Business meeting

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Very pleasant surroundings, especially the water feature, this is gave a calming effect to the stay.
Cons: Clear the bar of empty glasses, an automatic glass cleaner would assist the bar staff, who were constantly busy and very pleasant when under pressure.
Location: Did not get a chance to site see, but the location is excellent for transport, where train and bus depot's are withing walking distance.
The hotel offered very good facilities for our evening business meeting. After dining we retired to the lane where we could smoke, drink and relax and continue our meeting.

Good Location but no aircon

Posted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: Its location
Cons: Airconditioning
Hotel seems pretty good as long as you don't get a room on the 1st floor (we're it seemed hot and stuffy) and on the main road side. Unfortunately there was a broken pipe in the road out front and the repair crew had jack hammers going from 11pm with the noise continuing 'til after 3am. Management tried to find a better room but there were none available. The room we were in was uncomfortably hot and with no aircon or ventilation and the window closed due noise, it was the worst night I've had for a long time. The room & bathroom looked to have been recently renovated so it was a shame they didn't put in ventilation.

Good Central Location

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Good location Warm d├ęcor and good amenities in the rooms Good breakfast
Cons: An outside light kept the room too light at night. The desk fan wasn't quite powerful enough to keep the room cool.
Location: Walking distance to all city centre amenities. Good transport links to airport.
Isaacs is a comfortable and well decorated hotel in city centre Cork. The rooms have ample storage, well finished bathrooms and tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast offered is competitively priced and guests can choose from an excellent array of continental breads/pastries, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts and jams etc., in addition to a selection of hot offerings. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel kindly stored my luggage on the day I left and the free Wifi made my trip just that little bit easier. The only mild negatives were that my room was at the very front of the hotel, facing onto quite a lively street - it wasn't excessively noisy, but noticeable. In addition, there was an uplighter immediately outside my window that was illuminating a hotel sign, unfortunately it was illuminating my room a little too much too, even with the curtains shut. Nevertheless, overall this is a competitively priced and fairly comfortable hotel.

Heavenly!

After being on the road a week this place had it all! A clean, spacious room with all the amenities including a full bathtub, safe & fridge! The waterfall in a private courtyard was an added treat! The attached restaurant, greene's, was truly the best 4 course meal we've ever had! Service was great, friendly. Prices were excellent. Highly recommend.

close to town center

Maria at the front desk was unbelievably kind and helpful. The hotel lobby, pub and dining room are quaint and the waterfall is peaceful. The rooms are slightly dated and the air conditioner didn't work well at all. For a quiet night's sleep close to city center it was fine.
