Two adults, Mon-Thurs stay at the Colossus B & BPosted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: The whole atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and I would happily stay longer and recommend this B & B to friends:)
Cons: Can't think of anything I'd change about our stay. Fallen in love with the islands and can't wait to go back.
Location: The town is small so we were near the shops and harbour and beaches, or coastal walks if that's why you've chosen the island. We hired bikes easily.
We found the owners of the Colossus very welcoming and very informative and extremely helpful. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable and felt homely. Breakfast was fresh and well cooked every day. The location is near to town with shops and pubs and the busy harbour to sit and watch off the lovely golden beaches. Views are spectacular, people on the whole are friendly and helpful, the town feels safe and trouble free. We cant wait to return next year, if not before.

We had a wonderful time and Carmen, the beauty of the islands and the weather made it an ideal break.

I would say the only downside of this B&B is the location: it overlooks the rubbish dump. Not that our room or the dining room looked out onto it but it is clearly visible as you are returning or leaving. It is also a 10min walk up the hill from town, halfway between Hugh Town and Old Town, not an issue to us but it may be to others. Apart from that you couldn't fault the place or service. The owners are very friendly, helpful and interesting and the room was spotless.
