very pleasant stay and great hotel for families.Posted Aug 4, 2013
Pros: Dining experience
Cons: Car park
Location: Overlooking the Falmouth harbour which in the morning is very peaceful for someone who enjoys the tranquillity.
Superb stay with very friendly staff service. The dining experience in particular was very pleasant and friendly which myself and my son has thoroughly enjoyed. A slight critic is the parking around this hotel can be a nightmare when the car park is full and it can be quite annoying when the guest of the hotel can't find a place to park at all after a long day out and is looking to get back to the comfortable room but end up waiting in car park for car park space.

Better than it seems at first!Posted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, great shower, good fast WiFi (I was working)
Cons: My bed wasn't great.
Location: It's a tricky 10 minute walk from the sprawling and often quite cute centre of the town - may be too far for older people. Also a long way from beach.
When you enter, you may think the AA 4-star sign is left over from 20 years ago, and it still seems a bit ambitious. The hotel is a little shabby, and not in a shabby-chic sense, just tired. However, it's a good hotel. Spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful, with a powerful shower and fast WiFi, you couldn't expect more for the reasonable price. It's a huge rambling building, and if your room is far from reception, it can be a drag getting to it and back down again.

Noisy, cramped and overpricedPosted May 9, 2013
We chose this hotel because the description sounded good and we wanted a treat after staying at some (predictable but rather boring) chain hotels and decided to pay a bit more for a one-night stay. The hotel has a great location overlooking the harbor and it is easy to walk to the center of Falmouth. When we went to our room we were disappointed to find that it was on the road side of the hotel rather than the harbor, and very cramped. Worst of all, there was a leak from the toilet with water over the bathroom floor. We called down to reception and they did fix this very quickly. The bathroom had typically bad British plumbing and the height-adjustable shower head flopped around so that it was difficult to stop water pouring onto the bathroom floor. The road side of the hotel was very noisy, with a lot of traffic quite late. The sash window would not stay up. We would have felt quite differently about this hotel if we had a room on the harbor side and if the bathroom had been OK - the other deficiencies would have been compensated for by the view. The breakfast was good. Overall, this was poor value for a small, noisy room.

Good hotel but some noise issuesPosted May 25, 2012
Pros: Lovely bedrooms
Cons: Noise on first night
Location: Within walking distance of town but some rooms are right next to the road.
Stayed for two nights. Very pleased with the size and decor of the room and the spacious en suite. Breakfast was good and the hot meal was freshly cooked to order (bacon and sausages were really tasty!) Our one problem - the room was adjacent to the road and opposite another that joined it at a T junction. We were woken very early with traffic noise and didn't get back to sleep again...the ceiling was also extremely creaky when people in the room above moved around. We spoke to the receptionist and were moved upstairs for the second night to another good quality room but with the added bonus of it being peaceful! All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Cons: Nothing at all!
Location: Great location, really quiet but also within easy walking distance of the town.
I could not fault this hotel, it is full of character & represents great value for money.
