Great hotel of historic importance.Posted Jun 7, 2014
The hotel stands in its own grounds and was the home & studio of a local artist. Our room was spacious, scrupulously clean and well furnished. A continental breakfast with fresh fruit was provided daily and the room had a small kitchen, sufficient for preparing light meals. The hotel is situated on level ground at the top of a steep hill and accessed via a long narrow, private, driveway.

Brilliant room complimented by a brilliant viewPosted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: The secluded location, the view, the modern decor, the comfy stay, the welcoming host
Cons: Provide toiletries, everywhere else does!
Host gave us a warm welcome and a rough guide to the area. Stayed in room 1 which is a king size suite. Bed was very comfortable and facilities brilliant. I only marked room down to a 4 because they didn't provide shower gel or shampoo. This is a brilliant guest house and I'll certainly return.

very comfortablePosted Sep 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a very nice guest house in rural Cornwall. The host is very welcoming and ready to provide advice on restaurants and sightseeing in the area. I was a little surprised that we had to prepare our own breakfast in the room but there was plenty of food although rather basic. The house was clean and the room was private with a beautiful view out the window. The bed was comfortable. We appreciated the beauty of the surroundings and the proximity to many attractions, however the house is difficult to find especially after dark.

We had a very large, comfy bed.The hotel was a bit remote but we walked to a village a couple of miles away which was lovely. The room was large, spacious and airy.It was so quiet, we had a great sleep. We felt looked after but felt as if we were the only people staying there, which was lovely.Th do it yourself breakfast was great and the late check out time was ideal.Thank you for a lovely stay.

Special place to stay in western CornwallPosted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were thrilled with our stay at Higher Faugan for 4 nights in late July. The house is lovely, set at the end of a long, winding road between hedgerows. The room was tastefully decorated and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in the family room with a queen bed and a sofa bed that opened into two single beds for our kids. Breakfast foods were provided in the room (which has a microwave, toaster and refrigerator) the night before so you can have breakfast whatever time you want. The owner was very friendly and helpful, without being at all intrusive. He provided great suggestions for sights and restaurants. Laundry service is available for a fee. Newlyn/Penzance is a good location from which to explore western Cornwall (Lands End, Mousehole, Porthcurno Beach, St Ives, etc.). We liked returning to a quiet retreat at the end of the day. I highly recommend this bed & breakfast!

This was a repeat visit to Higher Faugan Parc, again the hotel shone in all areas: really friendly welcome (despite us arriving very late), comfy rooms decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with great views, lovely beds, nice breakfast. Will stay happily again, when in the area.

relaxing atmospherePosted Jun 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were only there for an overnight stay before and after our trip to the Isles of Scilly but we were made to feel very welcome and even had our heavy cases carried up to the room for us! Lovely warm feeling to the house, huge space and gardens surround it. You really feel like you're away from it all. We had a suite for 3 which was lovely; the kitchenette was fully stocked with everything you would want/need for a continental breakfast. Very clean, beautifully decorated rooms (we had a different suite on the return journey) and the italian sofa beds were very comfy.
