Great for visting South CornwallPosted Mar 28, 2015 on Hotels
Booked about a week before the stay, lovely lodge style room with en-suite shower/toilet. A very sunny room view as it was more all less all window to the front. We arrived to find out that the restaurant was not available as the Chef had walked out the previous day! However, it was only 5 minutes’ drive to Looe. Easy to find. The owners could not have been more welcoming and breakfast was please continental though you could pay extra for a cooked breakfast. Hotels.com had made a bit of a mix-up on the booking and had sent a cancellation notice. The owners sorted that out, it was no problem but it might have been an issue in the main summer season. I would stay again.

Our last minute breakPosted Mar 8, 2015 on Hotels
Our last minute break, we found the room very comfortable with ample space a very good supply of tea coffee milk. A decent size TV with comfortable bed and 3 piece suite thrown in for good measure, the room was nice and warm also. Breakfast was plentiful and with a good selection on offer being good value for money. Plus nice friendly staff.

So-so.Posted Jul 14, 2014
This inn was OK, but not particularly welcoming. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon and was shown in very briefly. Rooms were fine, but there was a notice up about problems with the hot water supply which looked to have been there some time. Had a slight problem dealing with check-out as was asked to pay when even the paperwork I was given clearly showed I had paid online in advance. It was a convenient location for Looe and a decent price, but I would probably look elsewhere next time.

Basic Stopover HotelPosted Jun 7, 2014
Pros: Nice decor and furniture
Cons: Better quality toiletries in bathroom and good connection for TV aerial wire
Location: We left fairly early before check out time.
We arrived at Penzance Quay at 7.10 pm and drove down to The Snooty Fox Inn still during daylight, however it was getting dark and hotel was not clearly sign posted till the actual turn off from the main road. We apologised for our arrival around 8.50 pm. The lady at the bar kindly arranged for our meals. The Dining room was lovely, our fish and chips were freshly made. However our room was on the first floor , up a spiral staircase, at the end the end of a narrow corridor. A gentleman showed me the room and gave me the keys. Normally we are able to take the luggage to our rooms, but the spiral staircase was quite difficult, overcame this by taking only essential items and leaving rest in car. The room was strangely dusty and even bathroom floor was too dusty to walk barefoot. Provision of toiletries was more 2* Blackpool hotel! The staff were quite clinical, ok for a business convention, but aloof for a holiday visit. Completely in contrast to the incredible hoteliers we had just stayed with in the Scilly Isles.

great for a short stay-1 adult and 1x 15 yr oldPosted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels
1 night stay to be near friends. Very accommodating towards our Yorkie, who had a ball with the 2 westies on site! Shame that there were no bar/communal facilities, but I suppose to be expected at this time of year. Good value with a good size and clean, comfortable room. Easy parking, which I'm sure, would be the case also in peak time. Would consider a re visit in the summer.

Overall a good stay. Unfortunately at time of stay didn't have an on-site restaurant or bar open Needed a car to get anywhere to eat.

one to missPosted Aug 17, 2013
Cons: lack of genuine hospitality, apart from the room , no usual hotel facilities like a guest lounge.
Location: not too far to Looe
We will not be looking to return. We did not feel this was a proper hotel, short, rigid early time for breakfast, no exception for weekends and the fact most guests were on holiday. Doors always locked, bar & lounge in darkness and locked by 9pm. Felt we were intruding.
