Small room with low ceiling - kept bumping head...Posted May 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had an enjoyable stay but it really is a B&B with restaurant. We had small room but other rooms are larger. Food Breakfast was very good. Evening meal was expensive for what it was but good.

Great hotel, would book it againPosted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: The owners were absolutely amazing and made us feel right at home.
Cons: Can't think of much exept the waitresses that served dinner.
Location: Lot's to do in the heart of Cornwall, an absolut must is Tintagle Castle and the Little Cornish Soap Company Shop in Bodmin.
When my husband and I checked in the reservation from expedia hasn't come through but the lovely owners of the hotel fixed it for us so we had a great room for two days as planned. They were genuinely nice and helpful and gave us tips for things to do in the area. We felt extremely comfortable and loved the room we had. Breakfast was very good, the food freshly made and you got to choose between full cornish breakfast and other hot dishes. Loved the homemade jam and marmalade from granny a lot. We met the two chocolate labs Bonnie and Clyde and debated whether we could steal them because they were so cute and friendly. ;-) The only thing I didn't love was the dinner we had. My husband enjoyed his starter, pork belly and dessert (crumble), but my starter (soup of the day) was lacking seasoning, the beef bourguignon main course was very fatty and the meat had a strange texture so I just ate the sides (mashed potatoes were delicious). The waitresses weren't very attentive and when one of them cleared my plate she asked "was everything all right" when she saw my uneaten meat but was gone before i could answer. I would have loved to have the crumble, too, but after asking two different waitresses, it was confirmed that it had almonds, so i couldn't eat it because of my allergy. I wasn't asked if i would like some other dessert, she just went away. Since dinner was pricey, I was a little disappointed. Had our first Pimms Cocktails, the were so delicious.

Great hotel, attentive staff and simply...perfect. Highly recommended, stayed here over a dozen times over the last few years, and each occasion is a delight.

Hotel with age and characterPosted Nov 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lovely welcome and clean accomodation, however the Hotels.com website did not reflect the same book capacity as the Trehellas booking page. We did not get the room we booked. Albeit this did not detract from a pleasant stay and good hearty breakfast. Access back into hotel late at night is not an issue, Staff are very nice.

Comfortable B&BPosted Oct 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lovely location, but we found it difficult to locate (Satnav not particularly good in Bodmin). The hotel is a good 8-10mins on your right after the small roundabout signposted to Wadebridge (No mention of Washawy). The hotel is quaint with lots of original features. If you want to stay somewhere authentic with history this is the place for you. Plenty of parking space. Meals were nice, service seemed slow, but everything is cooked fresh, so have a drink and chill. Our room was located away from the main building, it had all the amenities we required (No bath though if thats your thing) Room did get very warm during the night, but the room was itself was clean & well presentable. Free coffee & Tea, Overall an excellent B&B

Enjoyable stayPosted Jun 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our two-night stay at Trehellas House Hotel. The room was a very good size, well appointed, and clean. An excellent cooked breakfast was served in the conservatory in the morning. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the hotel manager/owner in particular took the time to discuss the area with us and other guests, suggest places to visit, and give very helpful directions and other information such as places to eat. This was much appreciated. The hotel itself is an attractive stone building and the grounds and gardens are well maintained. It also has an outdoor swimming pool.
