Good location and friendly service but...Posted Apr 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
We only stayed for one night on our way through to Taupo. The room was large and appeared very new with a lounge area and kitchenette. However, our room was on the bottom level (of 2) and the construction must be wood so we could hear every footstep from the people staying upstairs. This was especially painful when the lady upstairs decided to do morning aerobics including star jumps which was literally shaking the windows in their frames. The location was good, close to the beach and the shops although the actual view from the downstairs room was just out onto a shared driveway which was a little less then private. The bed was terrible (hard and small) and we subsequently had a very poor nights sleep. It was unfortunately overall a bit disappointing and I could not honestly say I would be keen to stay again or for a longer period. This is especially true given the price which I felt was on the higher end of the scale.

Short but nice stayPosted Apr 28, 2014
Everything top notch for price point. Even gave us some towels and a shovel/bucket for our Hotwater Beach visit!

Hotel is close to everything and very clean. It is pricey but very roomy. If you want luxury this is for you however if you just want clean and comfortable then there are cheaper options. The staff on duty seemed to give me attitude because I was a solo traveller

Older hotel, but VERY cleanPosted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Very clean, convenient location, nice staff
Cons: Update the amenities.
Location: Bay of Plenty and Mount Maunganui
The hotel is dated, but everything works well and is super clean. The stainless steel is the shiniest I have ever seen. The owner is very nice and so helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would go again. The hotel does not have modern amenities, so if very new and modern is important to you, you should stay elsewhere, but if a clean comfortable room with all of the things you expect in a typical hotel in NZ (teapot, coffee, tea, dishes, kitchenette, etc), then this is a nice little hotel.

Pros: Clean, welcoming owners, free use of cot and bedding, sea view.
Cons: Very little!
Location: Enjoying the coast and seaside, glass bottomed boat tour which covers sea life and also the local rock formations. Hot water beach.
Very clean and well furnished mini apartment with a kitchenette, living room and about 1 minute from coastline. Very welcoming and helpful owners.

Loved the heated pool and kiddie pool. Clean and well-sized rooms. Very convenient location. Beds were quite uncomfortable. could feel the springs and gave me a sore back. Everything else was great.

Location. Value for money. Clean and comfortable. All of these are reasons for why I would rate this place as a great option to stay in the Coromandel Peninsula.
