Coromandel Peninsula Vacations
Coromandel Peninsula is located approximately 45 miles (72 kilometers) east of Auckland and about 310 miles (499 kilometers) north of the national capital Wellington.
To see some of the scenery on the waterfront, visit at least one of the beaches and lookout points in Coromandel Peninsula. Hot Water Beach and Buffalo Beach are two of the more popular stretches of beach in this coastal location. Hahei Beach and Sandy Bay Beach are another two popular coastal destinations in the region.
Be sure to include a visit to the Coromandel Historical Museum on your itinerary and get a feel for the area’s history. It’s one of the area’s main historical museums. The Thames Historical Museum is another excellent place to explore in the city.
If you want to surround yourself with nature, head to Mount Paku and Mount Maungaruawahine, two protected reserves where people love to go on a fine day. Walk through the parks and go birdwatching, before enjoying a snack in the parks’ beautiful surrounds.
Goldfields Shopping Centre is the perfect place to go to if you enjoy shopping and people watching. Check out what the locals are wearing and then buy some souvenirs.
Leave the ordinary behind in Coromandel Peninsula by planning a visit to the Coromandel Goldfields Centre & Stamper Battery. Savor the peace and quiet, ask about the historical themes, grab something from the gift shop or just explore the treasures of the past.
