“Nice Place to Stay in Corpus”
My only two problems were the pillow was not comfortable at all (they might have had some other options, but I did not check with the front desk), and secondly at breakfast the eggs were served uncooked and runny.
“Great Hotel!”
Very nice and clean hotel. Hotel staff is very friendly!
“Corpus's Best Hotel”
great hotel
“Weekend Trips to North Padre Island”
After visiting the beaches of Port Aransas and S. Padre Island, we quickly learned that S. Padre had better beaches (cleaner, better sand quality, clearer water, and fresher air- didn't care for fishy seaweed in Port A). The problem with S. Padre is that it's such a long drive from where we live. Low and behold, we decided to give the beaches of NORTH Padre Island a try. We found the beaches equally as nice as the beaches of S. Padre but only 1/2 the distance from our home. For our first stay, we choose the Holiday Inn on N. Padre Island because of its proximity to the beach. The hotel has a great location, but the upkeep leaves a little to be desired. If I were to give them 2 recommendations, it would be to clean the windows (at least the first floor) and get rid of the damp, musty carpet (a natural stone floor would work well). We didn't see many other great options for hotels on the island (developers...its open season). So, for our next weekend road trip to the beach, we decided to stay in Corpus Christi, but within quick driving distance to the beach. The Hilton Garden Inn served this purpose very well. Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again in the future. It's a quick drive to the beach (get a beach pass so that you can drive onto and park on the beach..$12 for the year at local convenience stores), next door to an IMAX theater, and a quick drive to other stores and restaurants (best find was Hester's for breakfast). Enjoy!
“Nice hotel with an excellent breakfast”
We regularly come to Corpus Christi for windsurfing; and this was second time we stayed at this hotel, mostly because my daughter really liked the breakfast served at the hotel. The hotel has a very nice pool and a fitness center. There is a movie theatre next door; but for everything else you need a car. The room was not cheap, but it was worth.
“Good location, ez access”
Traveled to Corpus Christi to meet a family member who was driving in from another part of TX. We had wanted an area closer to San Padre Island, but accessible to downtown and conveniences. The hotels on San Padre Island weren't rated very well, and were very expensive. The Hilton Garden Inn was in a good location (as long as you have a car - no being able to walk to restaurants or stores). It was a short drive to either beach access on San Padre or downtown Corpus Christi attractions, and about 20 minutes from the airport (a $30 cab ride.) Front desk and other staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The business center was a plus to be able to print out my airline boarding passes for the trip home. Mini fridge and microwave in the room was also a bonus. The only negative was the bathroom fan - hotels never have a decent bathroom fan to clear humidity after showers, and there was a little mold on some of the bathroom grout. We didn't eat at the hotel, but highly recommend Snoopy's Pier for fresh seafood (cash only) and Rudy's BBQ for casual dining. Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel and our experience, and would stay there again.
“Comfortable, Convenient”
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel and it is in a good location off of SPID (set off the freeway, so you don't feel like you are on the service road). Only complaint is that rate said it included a breakfast buffet and when it was time for breakfast, we found out that we would have to pay. Very bright, inviting lobby and rooms are fairly clean.
“Great vacation”
Great place, cool rooms, comfortable beds. Would def stay here again.
“our family get away”
The hotel was very nice and clean,
“Expected a better stay, especially reading previous reviews.”
When we first arrived to the hotel, they tried to give us a KING SIZE room when I had reserved a NON-SMOKING 2 QUEEN SIZE ROOM. After showing them my itinerary with my request of room they offered me a SMOKING 2 Queen size room, with a young child the odor was unacceptable. I had to contact Expedia and they resolved my issue. Of course, all of a sudden the lady at the front desk offered me my original request that was reserved but had to wait an additional 45 mins for the room. On my last night at the Hilton Garden Inn we found bed bugs/ants on one of the beds and the chair next to that bed. A manager was called to check the room and when we checked out, they had a goody bag ready for us. I honestly expected a better stay at the Hilton, especially after reading all the good reviews. Overall, I enjoyed my stay but could have been alot better!
