Great hotel right on the beach.

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: It was bright and cheerful. The staff was friendly - especially in the dining room.
Cons: None
Location: Right on the beach. Easy walk to the Lexington aircraft carrier museum, the aquarium and restaurants.
It was all round fabulous. Parked my car and did not move it for 3 days. Easy walk to everything I wanted.

Could have been worse, but could have been better

Posted Mar 30, 2014
I chose this hotel because it was only one of 3 hotels left in Corpus on the night I was staying there. There was some sort of high school skills conference in town and all the hotels were booked. So, mentioning the high schoolers, it was exactly how it seems: loud all night. I was traveling alone for business so I didn't mind the screaming off the balconies at 1am. Had my kids come with me, it would have been a different story. So I arrived and went straight to the restaurant to get dinner so I could get to work. The bartender told me to sit down at a table and someone would come help me. 25 minutes later, I left. Never saw a server. Next, I had a toilet that didn't flush as soon as I got into the room. The maintenance guy came up within 5 minutes and "fixed" it. Pretty much it took 3 flushes to actually work now. Oh well, not a huge deal. The greatest part of my stay was the call at 12:45am telling me my room service charge had come back denied. Well, I paid cash for my room service (that was delivered at 8pm, by the way). I told him such and he was very confused. I would have hoped they could have worked this issue out at another time than calling my room after midnight. The last knife wound was that I waited at the front desk at 7am the next morning to check out. For 10 minutes. Never saw an employee. I just threw my key cards on the counter and left. All I'm all, I'd rather sleep in my truck next time than stay here. Oh well, next time I'll book earlier elsewhere.

Thank you for telling us about your stay, it is through these comments we can improve our service for your next visit. We have had the SKILLS group for several years and this was the first time we have had this issue. We did report it to the Staff who assured us they would handle it, I do apologize. Regarding the Restaurant service, I have copied your comments to the operator (outside vendor) for her action. I am sorry you didn't get better service in the outlet and the call from Room Service after midnight is not our policy. I assure you this will be discussed. There is no excuse, and I hope you will accept my apology. Thank you again for telling us, we will do all we can to see these issues are not repeated. Dave R. GM

We had an overnight stay and were very pleased.

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: The staff was very pleasant and the room clean.
Cons: The restaurant connected to the hotel had very poor and slow service.
Location: We enjoyed being right on the beach - great views!
We checked in very quickly and the staff (Lisa) took time to ask where I was from and what I planned to do during my stay.

Beds were so comfortable

Great location if visiting USS Lexington or aquarium. The town is somewhat run down and the food in restaurant is expensive.

Hotel close to the beach.

Posted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: We loved the hotel being on the beach. The balconies were awesome. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The beds were too hard. The bathtub felt like I was gonna fall thru. The bathtub has a very slow drain. The hot tub was not hot. The vending machines.
Location: The location was great. We walked to see the USS Lexington and the Sea Life Aquarium. Enjoyed Pier 99 and Blackbeards. We collected a bunch of shells
We had lots of fun and enjoyed the beach. The Restaurants. The USS Lexington and Sea Life Aquarium. We walked the beach and collected shells. We even found a Hermit Crab. We loved the balcony view of the Naval Ship and the Bridge that lit up at night. Very pretty. Staff was excellent tending to our needs. The laughing Gulls were also awesome!!

Overcharged and won't correct it

Posted Feb 27, 2014
Cons: customer service
We booked through Expedia , so the hotel was already paid for when we arrived. After returning home I went online to pay our credit card off and saw that the day after we checked out there was a charge for $703.97. I called the hotel and they said it was a mistake, took my phone number and said they would correct it and call me right back. well, it's been 5 day now and I have contacted the hotel directly twice more and Radisson customer service and no one will call back and the charge is still on my bill. I have had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge.

I apologize for the confusion with your bill. After talking to you Wednesday we immediately made the necessary correction. It was a clerical error by an associate and there is no excuse, but we did make the necessary credit to your account and it should all be taken care of. Again, my sincere apology and we will do all we can to see this is not repeated. Dave R., GM
