"Nice condo, less than one block from beach."
Manuel, the property manager, is VERY helpful and kind. He knows where everything in town is, and he and some of the staff live on property, and all of the staff are nice. The condo isn't easy to find (the street it's on is more of an alley - look for Barcelo DB on the map). The apartment is adequate - full size fridge, stove, oven, couch, dining table, cable TV in the living room and master bedroom. The water pressure in the showers was great, especially for washing off sand from the beach, and the showers were nice and hot. My friends who traveled with me thought the beds were a little hard, but I thought they were comfy enough. There are separate AC units in the bedrooms, and a big fan in the dining room, so the house was cool enough. Having never been to the DR, it was nice that we could buy a day pass to Barcelo Resort which is next door to enjoy the all inclusive amenities (lunch, dinner, and breakfast, in that order, as well as free (albeit watered down suguary) drinks). We rented a car so we could see the country, and there was limited free parking available on the property. If I would ask for any improvements, I would have wanted a washer dryer in the unit (there was a hookup in the back, and Manuel told us we could use the one that housekeeping uses, but we didn't ever want to be a bother to the staff). Also, having 2 bedrooms, there were 4 of us, and I'm sure we could have asked for more cutlery, glasses, plates, but there were only 2 of each provided upon checkin.
