Has potentialPosted Oct 25, 2013
Was disappointed in the overall condition of the hotel. The refrigerator is sitting on a box and not very sturdy. the microwave is sitting on top of the refrigerator, and when you use it, the refrigerator starts to tip over. The bathroom still had a used soap bar in the tub, and was not thoroughly cleaned. A coffee maker would be nice for in the morning. the office doesn't open til ten and one is usually on the road by then. It got the job done, but has the potential to be a nicer place with some TLC. outside appearance looks a little run down. we stayed in nicer places for the same money.

the motel is not easy to find coming from the eastPosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: It was OK
Cons: some visibility or signage
Location: We chose the motel because of it's proximity to Mesa Verde, but there is much more to experience in the four corners region.
The room was clean and comfortable. The person at the desk helpful. :Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Pretty clean, comfy bedsPosted Sep 4, 2013
Cons: It's a little run down, it needs some updating
Location: Mountain biking
The room was pretty clean, the beds were comfortable. The tv Was tiny, but they had a mini fridge and microwave. Staff did a good job cleaning our room! I would stay again for the price it was ok.

Satisfactory, but not memorable.Posted Aug 17, 2013
Pros: Well located inside Cortez.
Cons: Add desert friendly plants.
Location: It's inside the town of Cortez, so there are several restaurants and establishments nearby.
Needed a place to stay. This hotel provided the basic necessities. It appeared to be the most affordable location in town for a basic inn. Everything was very basic, but worked. The building layout allows for some shade on the cars.

KOA campground would have been better then this.Posted Aug 16, 2013
Location: Farthest from Mesa Verde.
The picture must have been taken days after it was built in 1959. Talk about old. Wore my shoes the entire time I was in the room. Believe me I'm not that picky-but I do have a few standards. Book elsewhere is my recommendation

Responding to comments. We strive to make our guests comfortable and have memorable thoughts of the Mesa Verde Inn in Cortez. Our rooms are comfortable with large king and queen beds and modern facilities. We have the swimming pool of any hotel in Cortez. We are sorry about a few guests that made comments about our rooms. We are recarpeting 30 rooms and have updated our bathrooms and buildings. We have thousands of guests each season and 99 percent thank us for a lovely visit and make comments. We aim to please and wish guest who were not happy had mentioned it to us. We offer 5 acre of grounds for pet walking large vehicle parking and a friendly staff to assist everyone. Thank you management

HorriblePosted Aug 14, 2013
Location: Cortez is an up and coming little community - seems like they are just finding their own being close to Durango etc.
Asked for non-smoking room and there were large cigarette ashes all over the windowsill inside the room. Bathroom floor had not been swept in awhile - toilet and sink were clean. Sticky can rings all over the bedside table. TV, remote and phone were very grimy. The sheets looked laundered and the air conditioner worked - about the only good things. Didn't bother taking a shower the next morning as I wouldn't set foot in that tub.

This is a very old hotel.Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Quiet and relatively clean
Cons: remodel of who motel
Location: Sonic is within walking distance
In its day, this was probably an okay motel. The room was clean but had clearly seen better days. The rooms had popcorn ceilings which is a partial indicator to the age of the hotel. The outer door handle had plenty of spotting and paint from a less than professional paint job. The security latch was gone due to someone possibly forcing the door ripping it off the door frame. The hotel is also listed as the Capri (I can't recall the name). It is located on the south end of town and is a little drive to the center of town. The other scary thing about the motel is that the marque states "Biker welcome!" I'm not a biker so is wasn't really what I was looking for. On the plus side, the room was relatively clean and the staff while looking a bit worn seemed friendly and helpful. The motel was pretty quiet as I'm sure it was at least half empty. The pool also looked pretty clean. If you are coming in late and planning on just using the room for a night's sleep, it would be okay but if you plan on staying for a couple of days, I'd look elsewhere.

our mesa verde experiencePosted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: spacious rooms an the diner being right there in the parking lot
Cons: b making it more sound proof for the cattle upstairs and some fresh paint on exterior and new bedspreads
Location: we were there to see mesa verde national park which was very beautiful for someone in excellent shape to hike and climb
our room was okay but my sister was in room 107 or so and she said the soap from the previous guest was still in the shower otherwise we were very satisfied except the people above were being pretty loud but we still enjoyed our stay the room was very roomy an liked that it had a fridge for milk an drinks just wish it would of been a little closer to mesa verde national park
