Front Desk Staff, Amazing!

Posted Jul 27, 2014
The hotel was comfortable, and Pedro at the front desk was amazing! I had accidentally booked a hotel through expedia in Tossa de Mar for the wrong night, and Pedro contacted the hotel many times to talk to the hotel manager to rebook my stay for Sunday night! I cannot say enough good things about Pedro, because I do not speak Spanish language to have handled the situation! Our room was great, and the hotel was quiet!

Good location

Pros: Location
We had a short stay in June 2004. The hotel is centrally located. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant offered a varied menu at reasonable prices.

Great hotel in Girona

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Well located for exploring Girona. Room was modern, clean and spacious. There is a nice looking cafe on the ground floor but I didn't have time to check it out. The receptionist was very helpful. If you want to go to Girona airport, the bus terminal is about a 10-15 minute walk and costs under €3 vs €30 by taxi. I highly recommend this hotel.

short break (3 nights)

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: primarily its location for our purposes. price was good.
Cons: quite happy with it.
Location: close to cathedral and the roman wall. variety of eating places. shops. reasonable transport costs to outlying areas. entertaining evenings in square.
thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the stay. staff friendly and helpful. facilities good - restaurant, bar etc. stored cases after room vacated etc. the area itself is vibrant and people friendly, no sign of any trouble and enjoyable to observe the different culture.

Thanks for sorting out my passport!!

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: I left my passport in my room, only discovering I had done so when I was queuing at the airport. I phoned the hotel and they delivered it by taxi.
Location: Right in the centre, less than 5 minute taxi from train station, 5 mins from El Cellar de Can Roca and 20 mins from airport
We were in Girona for one night to go to El Cellar de Can Roca and it was perfect for this. I think half of the diners in the restaurant that night were staying here!

Good hotel. Front desk staff very helpful. Good central location. 10 min walk to train station. A little too quiet at night, not much to do after dark. We would return for very short stay.

Location--A map would help!

Posted Apr 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel is ideally located...for walking. If you're arriving by automobile be ready for a driving adventure to locate the parking garage associated with the hotel. It would have made a hilarious YouTube video of an extreme marriage-testing challenge for this "husband-driver and wife-navigator team", who ultimately, exhaustedly, stumbled upon the garage like a mirage in the desert, despite themselves and GPS--without resulting in a call to a divorce attorney. Once you've mastered it, it of course seems so simple, but you might try printing out a detailed, "macro-level" map before you go. "Note To Hotel"--Please!...provide a simple, graphic map of the immediate surrounding area, (indicating the plethora of one-way streets and key landmarks). It would make your guests' arrival by automobile an easy, pleasant experience rather than a hair-tearing-out one. Once happily parked, the hotel is, mercifully, mere steps away. (Note: The rather pricey +/-23 euro/day parking fee is so worth it. Hotel gives you a 10% discount too.) Girona is best explored on foot and up close anyway. It is an absolutely delightful, atmospheric old city that beckons right outside the hotel door. Ciutat de Girona is a very good quality contemporary-amenity hotel seemingly impossibly tucked amidst massive, ancient stone buildings and close to everything. Oh and do NOT miss walking the length of the perimeter wall of the old city!
