The hotel was fine. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. It's a total "you get what you pay for" type of thing. I think I'd go back, but it's certainly only a safe place to drop off your things and sleep.

The room was basic and good for one night. The law cation was excellent, only a few blocks from the city center and bars/ restaurants. The price was great!

it's actually a small apartment!!!
We were very pleased with our stay at Hostal Sanmar. Although we booked a double room, what we got was actually a small apartment (although there was no working kitchen). It's minutes walking to the historical center of Figueres and the Dali museum with ample choice of lovely restaurants. Breakfast is served in a different builing, at the reception address just around the corner. The one drawback was the heat, which is pretty stifling in summer and the apartment does not have aircon. I would say this was great value for money. If you are staying in Figueres for a few days, I recommend a visit to the San Ferran castle and dinner at meson asador.

Just a bed
If all you are looking for is a bed, this is the place! No elevator, Analog TV, shower with no walls or curtain, no fan in room, no air circulation, view from window: the people from the room across. Bed took up the whole room.

Ok for somewhere cheap to sleep
I was exploring Catalonia and decided on a whim to book this place to stay at. It's very basic and the building is old, but then it is very cheap. If you just need somewhere to sleep then this place could be ok. The wifi worked well and the breakfast was ok for the price.

Great value place. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. Bed was comfy and everything was really clean. Would stay here again if I went back to figueres

Excellent location slightly off the beaten track but a supermarket and cafe very close. There are two buildings - the one with the office and breakfast in, and one with apartments. This was meant to be a hostal but it was a hotel in reality and we had a privat bathroom, bedroom and separate living room with very small balcony and a TV. There was a fridge but no other kitchen appliance. It was spacious and I was impressed for the price. Highly recommended.

Nice place close to town
Staff are very friendly. Room and breakfast are good value for the price. The hotel is clean and secure, a few minutes walk to town and close to a good supermarket. There is also free parking close to the hotel. Wifi in the room.

A real diamond of a place! / <un tesoro de verdad!
From the outside it looks small and unassuming., but, we love it. <We have stayed twice in the last 2 years and each time it has been the best experience. <it is very close walk to the Dali <museum and the Rambla and also close to a supermarket. <it is a small family owned and operated business. The family is lovely and very helpful telling us how to get to the coast or suggesting other nearby towns to visit like Besalu and Banyoles. We have used Figueres as a home base while exploring the region by bus and train.<<Our room was so clean and the beds very comfy. The price is unbeatable! They housed us in a small apartment near the hotel which had a large livingroom and a kitchenette with a refrigerator. They also offer a breakfast with wonderful cafe con leche or espresso and pastries.

Surprisingly fantastic
We booked a private room in the hostel and when we arrived we were given an apartment style suite in their second building. The apartment was fantastic - so clean the floors were shining, with spacious rooms and a really comfy bed. It far exceeded our expectations, so much so that we considered staying a few extra nights!!

Hostel Sanmar is in a convenient location and provides good basic amenities and excellent service. The bathroom in my room was smaller than on a cruise ship, BUT I did have my own bathroom!

A bed for night but wouldn't return
This hotel seems like a one-man show. When we got there, there was a sign on the door saying "back in 5 minutes". We were about to ring the buzzer when a man walks up and lets us in. He checks us in and gives the key. I assume he's the owner. The room we had was on the second floor and we had to walk up a dark stairway. There were lights on the walls that you could turn on as you go. The room itself was dark and small. There was no air conditioning, only a fan. The beds weren't very comfortable, but it was a place to stay in Figueres so we could check out the Dali museum. It was one of the cheapest available places in town. There was breakfast offered for 4 euros but we didn't have it. We saw people having it the next morning. Seems the same man who checked us in was there for our check out and also serve breakfast.

Fantastic Hotel
Room was clean, spacious - was in an annex but made it slightly closer to the centre - it had a separate lounge and the wifi was excellent - the breakfast was good - highly recommended for such a cheap price

tres bel accueil
un accueil tres agreable le proprietaire nous a proposé un logement a l anexe plus calme pour la nuit, surprise c etait carrement un appartement , super propre , avec toutes les commodites bon petit dejeuner, 2eme sejour chez eux, nous y reviendrons

El personal simpático, limpio si. Pero lo que es del hotel....no he visto jamás un cuarto de baño más pequeño..para ir al WC tienes q hacerlo con la puerta abierta ya que es tan pequeño que no se puede cerrar la puerta...eso ha sido lo peor..luego de madrugada un ruido espantoso de coches...y las paredes de papel ya que todo se escucha. Por mi parte fui porque era lo más barato que encontré para estas fechas pero no volveré.

Lo malo es que estan un poco viejas las habitaciones pero para lo que la queriamos para una noche bien.. lo malo que no teniamos ascensor y llevabamos maletas grandes porque ibamos a otro sitio.. pero el chico de la entrada era muy muy atento y el pobre nos subio las maletas y nos busco un taxi para no ir cargadas hasta el autobús y la verdad que muy muy contentas

街外れといっても小さな街なので、中心部のダリ美術館、カテドラルまで徒歩10分もあれば十分。ホテル前路上に無料駐車可であり、またスーパーマーケットも近く便利。部屋にエアコンが無いので、夏の暑い季節の滞在には不向き。

예약한 곳과는 다른 아파트형 숙소를 재공해주셔서 편안하게 지내고 왔습니다. 다만 리셉션과의 거리가 있어 다소 불편한 점이 있었지만 달리뮤지엄과도 가깝고 센트로와도 버스터미널과도 가까운 곳에 있어 좋았습니다

Agréablement surpris , car les chambres étaient refaites à neuf, très jolies, modernes. Ideal pour un séjour de 2 ou 3 nuits, car un peu petite et manque de rangement. Bien situé proche du centre sans être au bruit. Personnel sympathique. Franchement pour le prix on ne peut avoir mieux. Nous recommandons cet hotel si vous avez un budget limité il est parfait, chambre très propre.

Chicanerie dès l'arrivée. Le réceptionniste (patron ?) prétend ne pas avoir enregistré de réservation à notre nom, malgré la preuve de réservation avec n° expédia.fr... Finalement il nous donne une toute petite chambre, mal équipée, au second étage sans ascenseur et refuse de nous aider à monter nos valises... Je précise que nous sommes 2 dames âgées.
