Value for moneyPosted Jun 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
My husband and I have just arrived back from a lovely week at Lloret where we had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel TOP Royal Beach. The hotel is well situated for the beach and local amenities, even the local L2 bus to Lloret town centre stops outside the hotel. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly especially the waiter in the roof terrace bar. Facilities spotlessly clean, with rooms and bathroom adequately furnished with powerful shower and lots of hot water! The only draw back was the non sound proofed rooms. Even though speaking at normal levels conversations were clearly heard. This is a good hotel if you are looking for value for money and we are looking to return later in the Season.

Very disappointingPosted Jan 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
The welcome to the hotel by the receptionist was almost non-existent - not one smile. Our room and most of the hotel smelt of smoke. The TV in our room did not work and some of the electrics (light fittings) in the room looked unsafe. We asked the receptionist where would be suitable to go for an evening meal and they responded that the centre of town was a 10 minute walk away. We walked for more than 10 minutes but did not find town. However, we did find a lovely restaurant with wonderful local wine. There was a large party (which included bingo and a 60s disco) for the many mature guests staying at the hotel, which was entertaining to watch. At breakfast the next morning, we were not greeted by anyone and sruggled to find a free table.

Holiday Coastal Resort for the 'brave' ..Posted Jun 24, 2012
Pros: Clean rooms and marvellous food buffet selection etc ..
Cons: Most of the staff provided a friendly service ..
Location: One hour drive from Barcelona City Airport. Beautiful views in coastal area for the 'brave' -
Sophisticated PlaJe de Fenal opposite hotel, with the main popular beach on Lloret de Mar- approx 10 mins walk away; lined by Restaurants, Juice bar areas, entertainment, plus lively and excited holidayers from all age groups etc .. Most staff Spanish hospitality was wonderfull.. Shout out to the lovely lady at the excursions desk, who compensated also in ensuring transfer from the hotel back to the airport went more smoothly with Aerocity Madrid - than on arrival ..

Pros: Friendly Staff
Cons: Shabby decor, basic room facilities.
Location: Good situation, close to beach, short walk from town.
Having stayed in many hotels I would not rate this one a 4 Star, maybe a 3, at most. We had an infestation of tiny ants in the bathroom, bedroom as well, although nowhere near as bad. The hotel is tired, smelly and shabby in places, rooms are as basic as you can get, with old tv's, no facilities for making hot drinks, no access to an iron, ironing board and the food was adequate, but hardly mouth-watering, finally the entertainment was mediocre. The first night of our stay (3.30am) was spoiled by Italian teenagers ringing our phone, running around shouting and letting off fire extinguishers. There were other parties of youngsters, who weren't as rowdy, but there seemed little or no facility in place to control and/or discipline parties of teenagers and their group leaders.

It fitted the requirements of the timePosted Nov 8, 2011
Location: We were there for the Costa Brava Rally but did enjoy getting out and about the district in general
Obviously built to cater for the package tour industry during the 1970's-80's boom period this hotel is showing both it's age and that it has been milked for profit over a long period of time. It really needs a total refurbishment. However in saying that if you are prepared to put up with the package style arrangements and some of the people that come with that then this place is suitable being close to both the city centres and the beach. Vehicle parking was never a problem as we could allways find a park withing 200metres of the hotel. There are some very good resturants within easy walking distance close to the beach. We were not park of a package deal and on arrivale at the dining room where we could not produce tickets and we explained that we normally looked at a menu and paid for our meals the staff quickly advised that it was a Buffet, that the price was 10 Euro each and gave us a bottle of vino to start our meal off with. Absolutely magic, they could not be more helpfull. Yes the rooms do have walls that were paper thin as we found out when a group of drunken foul mouthed middle aged English people returned to the hotel about 4.00am and kept everyone awake until about 5.00am but we did not raise it with the hotel, rather we let some of those who created the issue know about it in the morning. We trust they enjoyed their hangovers all the way back home to the UK on the bus & plane later in the day

H Top Royal Beach Fenals LLoret De MarPosted Aug 15, 2010 on Hotels.com
Hotel facilities and food were of good quality good value for money, but the bar staff I would of paid not to have to speak to them. Very big let down bad attitudes wouldnt even look at you when serving you. My children did not want to go and get a drink. We even had 1 waiter complaing to us about how many hours he worked and therfore we should leave bar quicker. They love to follow stupid rules and had no common sence. Felt like being in school with small plastic glasses. But loved location very near the beach real big shame about the bar staff. We spoke to other guests who had exactly same exerience. Wondering wether it was because we booked all incluisve as we were really made to feel like second class guests.

I'd rather sleep on the Beach than in The Royal BeachPosted Mar 30, 2009
Definitely the noisest hotel I have ever stayed in and will always be so if they continue to have coach loads of teenagers on poorly supervised school outings. Food mediocre, would struggle to get a 3 star rating.
