Lovely place to stayPosted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Position on the beach
Cons: Transport to and from Barcelona airport
Location: Great beach and plenty of shops close by
We stayed for 5 days Full Board and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we couldn't fault them at all. The food was of very good quality and varied a lot during our stay. Overall the hotel was very spacious, clean with a large bar, large reception, 3 pools and situated right on the beach. The only downer is that its situated quite a distance from Barcelona Airport, Cab ride is 120 Euros!! and so we opted for a bus there 12 Euros and a train back 17 Euros. Make sure that your flight home is after 10am as the bus and train service do not start to run till around 7-8am then you're at the mercy of the taxis. Otherwise, a pleasure to stay there

Worst hotel experience for mePosted Apr 15, 2012
Pros: next to the beach
Location: next to the beach.
room not comfortable. Noise train passing by at night. Mattress and pillow were very unconfortable. No even bin in the room. food in restaurant was like canteen food. They call it catalonia food, but it was bad and I have tasted better ones outside. not recommended.!

A Great deal right on the Beach!Posted Apr 9, 2012
This hotel has a fantastic location right on the beach. There is a nice patio and terrace area with a pool and pretty dated playground that opens up right to the beach. The train station to Barcelona is a 10 minute walk away. The ride is about an hour and 20 minutes and trains are every half hour or so. The hotel itself is pretty dated. It looks like it was probably beautiful when it first opened, but it is definitely worn now. There is a large game/ bar room with live entertainment. The breakfast buffett is wonderful and has a good selection. This hotel caters mostly to groups. We didn't book our dinner when we booked the hotel. Apparently you have to book ahead of time to eat at the buffett. They still let us eat and pay seperately, but I think it is because we walked in with the rest of the groups and started to eat already. We tried to eat at other buffetts at the nearby hotels, but they wouldn't let us in because we weren't staying there. The boardwalk on the way to the train station has several good restaurant choices. I suggest going there. For the price, this was a phenomenal hotel. Dated for a four star, but honestly all of the hotels in this town looked dated.

top roual sun Santa SuzannaPosted May 26, 2011 on Hotels.com
I booked 20 ladies into this hotel but when we arrived thy said they did not know we were all one group and we had rooms scatter from 1st to 6th floor. I cannot understand this as they were all booked in my name. Also the price of drinks was way over the top. 8 euro for a Drambuie.

fabulous hotel will return again soonPosted Aug 23, 2009 on Hotels.com
The Royal Sun is situated right on the beach at Santa Susanna so you have the choice of beach or pool. The hotel has fabbulously friendly staff and they are very helpful and determined to make your stay as pleasant as possible. In the height of the season there is an outside and inside bar which helps stop too many people queuing at any one time. The food is excellent and there is a great choice at every meal, they even have vegetarian dishes which is rare for Spain. There are no noisy lager louts at this hotel as this would not be tolerated by the management. We went all inclusive which is good value for money. This is our 4th visit and we will return again.

Clean Hotel with good location on the beachPosted Apr 20, 2008 on Hotels.com
This was not a good hotel for us, but it may be for you. The main issue is the other guests. The hotel mainly caterers for British 'all inclusive' market. As a result the entertainment in the public areas is aimed fairly low / family end of the market. Alot of noisy guests including children in the public areas. The rooms are fine and kept very clean. The pools looked good as did the terraces and other outside areas. Although we didn't use them most of the time as the weather in mid April was not warm enought. We only had breakfast which was not brilliant, hard fried eggs, rubber like scrambled eggs and orange juice that tasted like squash. If you like free drinks loud racious crowds of Brits with T shirts and shorts with children in a huge bar with kareokee with white plastic chairs this is for you! We used the hotel as a based to explore the area and visit Barcelona - for this it was OK.
