Fantastic location, clean and lovely pool area right next to the beach. Great choice of food at every sitting. Supermarket across the road for drinks. Ideal for bike hiring and walking into salou 1 mile or Cambrils 3 miles on safe path along the beach.

Staff worked so hard. Friendly, super clean hotel and pool area. Amazing really. Entertainment was great. The only thing is the air conditioning. You are forced as a guest to tolerate 24 degrees Celsius in your room. They have a strict policy about this according to maintenance and front desk. They will not decrease the temperature for the guests. Unfortunately our room had all sun exposure all day, So the coldest our room would get was 25 degrees Celsius. First 2 days I left the patio door open at night to cool off the room, but unfortunately I eaten by mosquitos, which then had a severe allergic reaction to so ended up on antihistamines pills and creams. The heat in the room just aggravated the inflammation. Hence asked twice to have them lower the temperature in the room, maintenance said they could to our section of the hotel but needed permission. Needless to say nothing was done. So great hotel, just a warning to people that are heat sensitive, do NOT stay here. I spent 5 days in absolute discomfort, the saving grace is the pool which is slightly cold, but a God send when your overheating in the room.

Don’t book if English - they won’t like you!
Booked 2 double beds. Got given 2 singles on check in. Took a lot for them to give us the room we had booked. Very rude staff. Language barrier was an issue in all departments. No kettle in room and no option to rent one so we had to ask for hot water from the bar staff once a day to make babies bottles (7 month old). Massive issue to bar staff and it was noticeable very very grumpy when we asked. Good location with bars and restaurants close by. Check out we didn’t even get asked if we had a nice stay. I get the feeling they don’t like English guests here.

Firstly, the property is on the beach which is fantastic but I would say it is much closer to Salou than Cambrils and there is a big difference in areas especially whem you get to Cambrils harbour etc. The reception staff were lovely as was the lady behind the pool bar.However for a property to have 320 rooms the pool experience wasnt great and completely over crowded as well as people can access from beach who didnt have bands so we had no chance of getting a loungers- the pool is way too small for size of peoperty. Because of this we went to cambrils beach one day and then the waterpark the other day which was fantastic. My only other niggle was breakfast and again due to volume of people the noise attack on your senses in the morning was immense. The food itself was fine and again staff were good but just not a pleasant morning experience. Okay for 3 day bresk but couldnt do any longer.

We stayed at Augustus hotel for 3 nights in May. Overall the experience was ok. Reus airport is only about 15 minutes drive away. Centre of Salou is about 20 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are very outdated for a 4* hotel. No pool or beach towels which I found surprising for a 4* hotel. Breakfast options were good, just a standard continental breakfast. Alcohol and drink options in the bar were great, and priced very reasonably.

The view from our room was great right on the water. The hotel was clean and there was a bus stop right in front that takes you to Barcelona, Tarragona etc. as well as dining. Maybe check in process is cumbersome and I think one of their passport readers wasn't working.

service helped improve experience
it was ok, but i had paid for one bed and they didnt accommodate so my husband and i had 2 twin beds. I even had called in advance. Also pool view is the same as standard so i paid more for not much of a difference. The beds are hard and the parking is expensive. Everything was redeemed because of the staff - they were awesome.

Very family friendly hotel, ideal location, clean and modern, good breakfast. We feel very safe inside. Only one negative point- majority of the staff doesn’t speak English, only Spanish or French. On the Monday night it was a Quiz but unfortunately kids couldn’t participate because of the language barrier. Other wise I would recommend this hotel.

The best value for money hotel I've stayed in so far. Very good quality and cheap too. Parking is 11 euro though per day which is a bit pricey out of season.

We were given a room on the first floor facing the main road. The noise was constant throughout the night. Adults and small children running up and down screaming along the hallway up to 1am. The walls are paper thin we could hear very loud snoring on one side, a baby crying on the other and someone walking around all night in what sounded like high heels. The noise from outside the front is the same, people coming in from nights out, coaches, motorbikes, scooters etc. We asked for a change of room and were offered one on the same floor just a bit further along .But we refused that and decided to stay put as it was not a good alternative, as it was just as noisy. The room, shower and cleanliness are good with nice décor in the room. The breakfast in the restaurant is very good as there is everything you might need to eat or drink in there. BUT you will need ear muffs in there and be able to swerve around people as it is like a cattle market..

On the beach, good buffett
The Air conditioning was pretty weak. The Buffett can get very crowded at peak times. The food was good and had a lot of selection. Easy outside parking across the street. Right on the beach, plenty of places to eat and get drinks right on the beach in front of the hotel. The rooms were nice, and have balconies. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable but they are built for withstanding wet people and kids and swimsuits.

Hotel in great location but overly busy
Great location next to the beach. Hotel is crowded and noisy, you have to wait in queue in the restaurant just to get in, then another line for fresh food... Swimming pool and sun bathing area is just too small for such a big hotel....Expect entertainment program until 11:30 late night which can be disturbing if you travel with young children. Otherwise it is clean and close to attractions.

I have booked Sea front but was offered pool view, no air condition until June, staff mentioned as it is hotel's policy. Beware of full/half board, don't even expect glass of water you have to pay for it. Couldn't stay 3 nights so we checked-out after 1 night and booked an apartment in different location.
