holiday in Sitges

Posted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: beach location peace and tranquility away from noise andl bars room was nice matching colours room and bathroom size very ample
Cons: the lifts didnt always function in number order which confused people
Location: good for all beaches but bars late venues 20 min walk
Right by beach good sea view but I wouldnt call it 4 star luxury more of a 3 star trying to be posh breakfast felt a bit rushed for an eleven euro buffet

Good locatIon but not a 4 star -in need of make up

Posted Aug 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Sitges is nice. The beaches infringing of the hotel are very nice. The hotel is in a perfect location esp for families and beach lovers However the hotel itself is rather old most facilities are in need of make up - lifts, corridors, reception all rather run down. Stayed in one of the renovated rooms was ok but has not the basics - no fridge, no wifi and the terrace was in dire need of makeover.

Comfortable hotel next to the beach

Posted Jun 30, 2013
Was good to enjoy some relaxing time after the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. Room was comfortable and larger when compared to Barcelona standards. Hotel across the road from the beach in a quiet area and yetnot too far from the Sitges downtown and its activities. staf was quite friendly and helpful. would not hesitate to stay there again.

Good quality hotel, quiet, right on the beach.

Posted Jun 25, 2013
Pros: Location, staff friendliness.
Cons: Ancient lift.
Location: Perfect for beach, a little out of town, views were second to none.
Really good location at the end of Stiges' promenade and facing the beach, 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Fairly modern with some exceptions - the lifts are probably original 1970's. Good layout with a nice garden and pool area, with a large restaurant and eating area. Room was adequate and had a good balcony with seats. Views are fantastic from front ( sea ) and rear ( hills ) and could not be faulted. Breakfast was standard fare for Spanish hotels. Friendly staff and that was a welcome change from the robot-style staff you get in most UK hotels. Would certainly go back - it's a great base to explore the town and surrounding areas yet still has the beach on your doorstep for when you want to lounge around.

Still showing it's age despite some room updates

Posted Sep 21, 2012
Pros: Nice pool areas and no trouble finding a sun lounger (early September at least).
Cons: Noisy plumbing and limited room facilities
Location: About 2 kns from the centre of Sitges, there's a regular bus that costs about EUR 1.60 and a taxi will cost between EUR 7 and 10.
We have stayed here a number of times over the past 10 years and when I read about some of the rooms having being updated and renovated I was looking forward to a more modern and appropriate feel. Yes the rooms on the top 2 or 3 floors have been updated and there's a large flat screen TV in the rooms but the even on the 6th floor the poor plumbing on the lower floors can still be heard (and physically felt) - it was quite concerning at times really. Everywhere else inside the hotel is still very much showing it's age and, although clean and tidy, just "old" throughout. A new small pool outside offers a "peaceful" change to the larger pool and is used a lot at the evenings on the weekend for a party athmosphere. The poolside bar was OK but did not offer good old fashioned tea as a beverage option so I had to ask for aqua caliente and drop in my own tea bag. (There's no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms either). The poolside restaurant offers a set choice menu which is OK but if you like your meat delicately cooked may not be the best option!! One final note - the decoration in the shower / bathroom reminded us of a scene from a Danny Boyle move with god only knows what smeared on the walls - photos attached!!!

Basic but clean, cheap & cheerful

Posted Jul 28, 2012
Basic but clean. Needs a bit of modernising. Lovely, if not a bit long, 30 minute walk to the town along the beach/prom - but there is a little train-car every 15 mins or so, which costs €1.80 each way Nice and quite part of town away from the main strip, but close enough to party till dawn and walk back as the sun rises Plenty of beds at the pool, which was cleaned daily

The terrible Terramar, Sitges

Posted Jul 13, 2012
Pros: Checking out
Cons: Checking in
Location: A good 30 minute walk from the centre of Sitges
It's like a 1960s Blackpool B&B. The furniture is old. The whole place needs a jolly good make-over - or better still, pull it down and rebuild a modern, up to date comfortable hotel with decent lifts, and more than two. Decent, modern room lighting, furnishings and decor.

Comfortable Spanish Hotel in a Spanish Resort

Posted Jun 28, 2012
This is the ideal hotel for those who want to stay out of the centre of town with a wonderful view of the town and the sea. You have the choice of a 30 minute walk into town along the flat promenade or a bus service that runs every half hour from outside the hotel. Yes - this isn't most glossy and fashionable hotel - the bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit shabby but they are spacious and very clean. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. The gardens are lovely and the pool area is much improved with a pool-side bar and restaurant. The main pool is very attractive and there is now a smaller pool for adults only. The guests seem to be mainly Spanish which is a real plus if you want to feel that you are actually in Spain!
