Lovely hotel, just yards from the beachPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: The location within the town of Sitges. The facilities in the hotel The friendly staff
Cons: The pool could be a little warmer
Location: The beach is located about a hundred yards round the corner. The hotel is a twenty minute stroll from the bars and restaurants along the beach front
We were at the hotel for a week, as soon as we arrived (late at night) we were stunned by the beauty of the entrance pathway. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and attentive but without being overbaring. The room was basic but had everything we would need for the week, with a balcony overlooking the pool and dining area. We only ever had breakfast, so cannot vouch for the rest of the meals, but the breakfast buffet was varied and very tasty. The beach is about a hundred yards round the corner. Sitges (pronounced like peaches) is a lovely town, with lots of fascinating little streets. Highly recommend wandering away from the main sea front, into the less touristy part of the town. There you will enjoy good local food and drinks, and at much cheaper prices. In saying that, the seafront is beautiful and bustling. Don't be put of by the gay reputation of Sitges, there were plenty of families holidaying in the area as well. One final comment avoid the Museu Romàntic - very disappointing. And the other two main museums are closed for another couple of years.

A perfectly fine hotelPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: The hotel was very clean and tidy.
Cons: Friendlier staff, kettle in the room and value for money on food & drink
Location: Pretty and quiet residential area, very close to the beach.
We stayed at the Antemare early Oct. '13. The hotel staff are efficient, not particularly friendly and not very approachable, everything seems to be an inconvenience and do not expect a smile. The rooms are fine, style is a bit outdated. Beds are comfortable bathroom of a good size but the shower cubicle is too small. Housekeeping is good, you'll find your room clean when you return. Having a lie-in is difficult. Noise travels far, housekeeping is the biggest noise culprit (chairs, beds etc. being moved around). There are no coffee/tea making or room service. There is a mini bar but without a price list. There is a safe in the room (free of charge) where you can fit in a normal size laptop. Breakfast in the hotel is €15 (cheaper if booked in advance), the à la carte menu and drinks are expensive. It's worth the walk (or cab €8 o/w) going into the town where you will have better and cheaper options. The pool area is modern, clean, quiet and you could spend a lovely day there enjoying the sun. The hotel is fine if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Sitges yet within walking distance (20 minutes). It is in a safe, quiet location and the beach is only hop - skip - jump away. Do make sure that you look out for a decent deal, so shop around. Antemare biggest problem is that they are cashing in on it's location they want to squeeze every last penny out of the customer with high prices for food and drink.

A mixed bag...Posted Oct 6, 2013
Firstly I should say that sitges is a lovely place to go on holiday. We went in the last week of Septemeber and it was still beach weather. Plenty of nice restaurants and bars. Hotel Positives: there was one lovely member of staff who was very attentive. Breakfast was good, and the pool area was very pleasant. Good standard of cleaning. Hotel Negatives: generally staff were very rude and unhelpful. We booked a double room (7 months in advance) and were given a twin. When we complained to reception about this, they simply said that they don't have many double rooms - which is disappointing. Don't stay here if you expect to sleep in the same bed as your partner! Several things were broken in the room (safe and air conditioning) which after telling reception twice, no action was taken to fix. Another disappointment with the hotel was that it is advertised as a spa, however, the jacuzzi was out of action and to use the sauna or steam room you had to pay an extortionate amount. It was almost impossible to get served at the bar as it rarely had a member of staff, you would have to search out someone to serve you and they would then act annoyed in response to a drink request. The one time we had lunch at the hotel it was undercooked and disappointing. Overall, we expected a 4 star hotel and it seriously did not hit the mark.

Nice quiet and relaxing hotelPosted Oct 2, 2013
The hotel is in a nice spot, only a short walk from the beach. It's on the quieter side of the town, about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Sitges. The hotel also has a nice pool. The restaurant was often busy but seemed expensive so we often went elsewhere, but the service was very good in general.

Nice hotel, decent location, nice walk to town.Posted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: The staff were all very nice. The pool area was great, with a good capture of the sun until early evening.
Cons: The rooms are a good size but could be spruced up a bit.
Location: The hotel was also very close to the beach and a nice 10-15 minute promenade walk to the town centre
When I arrived my room smelled very smokey, when I spoke to reception they changed my room quickly. My new room wasn't much to write home about, but it was large, comfortable and clean.

Nice PoolPosted Aug 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
On arrrival we were given a room right at the back of the hotel in the basement where the patio was accessible from the ground floor and the door did not lock. We asked for the room to be changed and we were moved to a fantastic sea view room which was 100 times better. The original room would have got 1´s all round.

Lovely hotel away from the main road so it was lovely and quiet. Staff were very polite and helpful. I'd happily recommend this and go and stay there again.
