Tucked away just outside the main town

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Service, cleanliness, location, staff, food.
Cons: Bottled water in rooms to be replaced.
Location: Located just outside the town 10 min walk. 2 mins to sea, 10 mins to harbour and shops, restaurants and bar. Mondays there is a big market in town.
It would be difficult to fault this hotel in any way. The staff were helpful, well presented and always had a smile. Nothing appeared too much trouble for them. The restaurant on the first floor overlooked the sea. The choice for breakfast was unbelievable and was presented extremely well. The choices left nothing to the imagination. There were no fry ups!!! just fresh well prepared food. The service was tops and the staff well presented and obliging. Our room 306, was a fair size with a terrace and grass area overlooking the sea. Well prepared and cleaned every day. Evening meals were again tops but at a price. Nothing is cheap in Sardinia, but you get what you pay for. My ONLY downside which I appreciate may appear petty, is that there should of been bottled water in the room and replaced daily. On arrival there was one bottle but never replaced. For a hotel of this class I was surprised that this was not taken into account. Cost would of been minima. Would recommend for adults of any age.

Lovely Boutique hotel

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: quiet pretty unique. friendly welcome at reception. comfortable beds.
Cons: tv reception, evening entertainment, menu limited, no information in the rooms about the local area. no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms
Location: joggers. Boat trips. Beaches. evening market in canniogne along the marina, another early morning market on monday am which we missed
Staff lovely, particularly the receptionists. Hotel quiet unique & pretty. Lots of steps. V quiet at night & day. Lovely view from our sea view room 412. Breakfast continental apart from eggs (scrambled, omelette, boiled nothing else with it except tomatoes and herbs) cakes were nice, but not my thing at breakfast. pungent cheeses & meats. They will give you pancake if you pre order the day before (not sure why it has to be pre-ordered) You must ask for toast they did not tell us they could do it. The TV in the room was very bad only the news & reception is terrible. The evening entertainment is very lacking. Nice & quiet for a few days, but needs something more for a longer stay we thought. The concierge told us about a beach on the porto cervo coast. 'Long beach' with multi million pound yachts v nice! Expensive to eat out and in the hotel. lots of sea food in restauarants, not much for vegetarians as i am. Restaurant just up the road has tables inside right on the beach with reasonable prices & pizza for me! Trip advisor say the beds are really hard so we were a bit worried. We needn't have worried as we slept really well on their firm (not hard) beds.54 euros for car to island imo not worth it. spent 3 hours there. car hire - we took it back with a full tank didn't use hardly any petrol& petrol stations to refil en route to airport (take note when they ask if you want a full tank! Extra insurance we felt was needed due to terrible drivers on the bends & reckless overtakin

Great Hotel - thoroughly recommended

Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: The setting is outstanding but the level of service we received makes it exceptional
Cons: Not much at all really although it was slightly disappointing that the hotel menu did not change throughout the week
Location: Stunning location with access to many wonderful beaches. Fascinating flora and fauna all over the island although walking routes are limited.
The hotel comprises a series of single storey buildings sympathetically blended into the hillside overlooking the Gulf of Arzachena - so all rooms benefit from lovely aspect and sea view. Without exception the staff were willing, friendly and very professional making us feel welcome right from the moment we checked-in. Facilities at the hotel were all very good with a very attractive pool (unheated), good restaurant and bars. The local settlements of La Conia and Canigioni have a selection of restaurants and bars all within easy walking distance of the hotel - which we took full advantage of during our stay. Sardinia has some of the most wonderful beaches in the mediterranean and many 'picture postcard' spiaggi (as they call them) are within easy reach - in fact the nearby beach at La Conia is great for swimming and only a few minutes walk from the hotel. To make the most of the area it is pretty much essential that you have access to a car as public transport is very limited and many of the really nice spots are not served by bus.

Amazing views and service!

Posted Jun 21, 2013
Pros: The views, Mediterranean style, service quality
Cons: Not much in local town Cannigione, 2 twin beds put together as a queen
Location: Not the best location but 20 mins drive from best spots!
Will start with the positives, as I was overall very pleased with our stay: 1) The views over the sea and bay are truly gorgeous. I could enjoy this view at my room's terrace, at the pool area, at the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner... beautiful! 2) The Mediterranean style of the hotel was also extremely nice. Rooms, common areas, restaurant, all had a clearly defined style which was very pleasing 3) The service is also very good. Restaurant staff in particular are extremely nice and doing their utmost to please you. 4) Although the pool is not very big, the area is very nice, and you could easily spend one day there without the need to go to the beach. So overall, very good quality-price relationship so would definitely recommend to others visiting that area of Sardinia. However, please bear in mind the following: 1) The closest 'beach' is 10 minute walk, but this is really not the beach you should be going to anyway, next to the main road through Cannigione, there are much much nicer ones. 2) You definitely need a car We have found that the nicest areas are either towards Palau, or Baia Sardinia/ Porto Cervo, where most of the best beaches, restaurants and boutiques are. These are around 20 mins drive from this hotel. We were happy to do this every day, but you do have to bear this in mind. It does become a bit negative at night, for dinner options, not much in local Cannigione really...

Great hotel for couples

Posted May 27, 2013
Cons: None!
Location: Beautiful view with beautiful scenery and surroundings. I would recommend hiring a car to get around.
A beautiful hotel with lovely friendly helpful staff, the rooms are cleaned twice daily so the cleanliness is exceptional. The breakfast is first class very fresh! What a stunning sea view with beautiful unspoilt surroundings. I would reccomend that you hire a car so you can drive around and see places too. I would definately recommend this hotel and would definately go back again.

Great for rest and relaxation

Posted Sep 24, 2012
A hotel with great service and an understated comfort level. It is welcoming and has all the amenities you could wish for - poolside and restaurant terrace with views of the water and mountains, excellent restaurant service, attentive maid service including turn-down service in the evening, and helpful reception staff. You can get a room on the main hotel site or in a nearby building on the hillside and it is best to ask for one with a sea view.

Chilled out holiday for couples!

Posted Jul 26, 2012
Pros: The staff were excellent and the breakfast had everything you could possibly want. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and decor stunning!
Cons: Hotel's restaurant (evening); food over priced and not as nice as some of the other eateries in the village.
Location: Location is perfect for couples who want luxury but want to be left alone to do their own thing! Car is essential, esp. to visit the 30+ beaches!!!
More suited for couples who want a chilled out holiday. Only a short walk (10mins max) to the main resort (which isn't overcrowded) and a 5 min drive or shuttle service the hotel offers to the two nearby beaches. Hotel Restaurant is overpriced and food isn't as 'wow' as you would expect for the price you pay, but there are loads of lovely and yummy restaurants to choose from in the local village which I would definitely recommend visiting. Loved our stay!
