Nice hotel facing the Ohio RiverPosted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Already stated
Cons: Nothing to mention at this time
Location: There are things nearby but we really weren't there to do anythings nearby.
I want to tell you that overall our experience was good, the hotel and the valet is a little expensive but it all depends on what you want. I would have to say that it brought back great memories for my wife and I it was the place we spent the first night of our honeymoon, and we would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

I enjoy staying at EmbassyPosted Mar 3, 2014
The room itself seemed clean. However the bathroom could use a thorough scrubdown. The shower floor and towels were very dingy. Also, I can remember having at least two full sets of towels. (2 hand, bath,& washcloths) The bedding seemed okay. Bed was comfortable.Overall, it was a comfortable stay. (A little pricey for the few things lacking)

Needs remodelPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The food and free drinks
Cons: It needs new furnishings and the staff needs to work on their customer service skills.
Location: The location is great if you want to do things in downtown Cincinnati. We got to the restaurant quickly and had no trouble with traffic.
The furnishings were very dated and the room was showing it's age. The thermostat was broke and we had to leave the heat off all night. They have a Make it right policy but the guy who checked us in was leaving at 4 and would not be back until 6 a.m. So instead of telling me who would be there for the majority of my stay he just laughed. Breakfast and their nightly reception were the only things we enjoyed.

Having stayed at the Embassy Suites a year ago, which was very pleasant, we found the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good repeat experience. Thank you

Someone Else's Hair in Bed; Unclean BathroomPosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Nothing (maybe the second person that helped me at the front desk)
Cons: Customer service (from at least the first person that assisted), and clean the rooms thoroughly!
I stayed at this hotel on Wednesday night. I booked three rooms the day of through Expedia by calling in. We got there and they only had two rooms on their register. For some reason the third room didn't get confirmed and Expedia and the hotel kept going back and forth blaming each other. Expedia faxed to the hotel proof of three rooms that were already paid for, but the hotel told me I had to wait for the information to hit their computer system. Then finally they agreed to check me in as a "walk-in" because the computer systems were not communicating - this was about a 45 minute wait. The woman that ultimately checked me in was nice enough, but the original person that was assisting us at the front desk didn't seem to care how exhausted one might be trying to check in to a hotel at 10 p.m. after a long day. He just kept saying we have to wait to hear from Expedia without offering any sort of sympathy or alternate solution. When I finally got into my room and laid down, I found three or four strands of long hair in my bed. Combine that with the fact that the bathroom didn't seem cleaned and you can see why I would not stay here again. I'll also add that the room thermostat didn't work so there was no way to control the temperature in the room. I would've called downstairs but was already too exhausted to wait for someone to come to my room to likely just move me to another room. My advice, try the Marriott which is essentially right next door.

Birthday celebrationPosted Jan 27, 2014
Pros: Everything, except we did not get a river view
Cons: Maybe free parking
Location: Great location. Newport on the levy. And in Cincinnati at the Banks, so many restaurants, theaters, parks, movie theater. and great shopping.
We celebrated my husbands birthday by just getting away from at all and spending time at the Embassy suites and we had a great time. The only thing is that we wished we had a river view.

Could be a nice hotel but has issuesPosted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: The suites were nice in this hotel and the location is good.
Cons: Customer service and cleanliness could definitely be improved.
Location: There are restaurants close by in Covington and Cincy. There is a shuttle that runs from this hotel to the Horseshoe casino which is nice.
This hotel needs to focus more on customer service. First, we were told the wrong room number, so we had to go back down to the front desk to figure this out. When we finally got in our room, it looked like it had not been clean properly in between guests or had not been deep cleaned in a long while. There was some kind of filth in the shower that had not been cleaned out. There was hair in the bed and the glasses we were supposed to drink out of were very dirty. We called the front desk and was told that we would be sent up new room keys and housekeeping would come and clean the room. The new room keys never came, but what did come was a team of investigators from housekeeping who made us feel like we were to blame for the condition of the room. The housekeeping manager was nice, but the girl who must have been responsible for our room was not very friendly and implied that the room was not in this condition when she left it. This was a very uncomfortable situation to be in. This kind of put a damper on our plan to have an enjoyable couple days in Covington. The nail in the coffin was when we had no hot water at all in the morning when we went to shower before we got on the road to head home. The hotel did offer to take some money off of the bill, but that was only after we complained at check out. This is not a hotel I would recommend to friends or plan on going back to.

Great location right on the river!Posted Jan 19, 2014
The room was comfortable and clean. The free hot breakfast and happy hour were amazing! However, the pool was freeeezing! We could not get in it; nor could anyone else! The hot tub was packed. The staff were polite; however not extremely helpful in assisting with directions/help I'm touring the city. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a summer visit when a heated pool isn't necessary.
