Recreational amenities include three championship golf courses (surcharges); an indoor, outdoor, and children's pool; and six tennis courts (surcharges). Winter amenities include chairlifts for skiing, a ski lodge, and an ice-skating rink (surcharges).

The Homestead features three championship golf courses (surcharges): The Old Course, designed by Donald Ross; The Lower Cascades, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.; and The Cascades, designed by William S. Flynn. The Cascades is consistently rated one of the top courses in the nation by publications such as Golfweek and Golf Magazine. All courses are ensconced in the natural contours and breathtaking views of the Allegheny Mountains.

Mineral spring waters and local Allegheny ingredients characterize The Homestead Spa, which offers a full range of treatments (surcharges). A lap pool, in an elegant room with arched windows, is naturally heated. An outdoor pool has lounge chairs and a bar, and a children's pool is adjacent.

Additional recreational amenities include six tennis courts and an eight-lane bowling alley (surcharges). Activities include: falconry, fly fishing, canoeing and kayaking, and horseback riding lessons; guided mountain biking and hiking; paintball; and sporting clays, trap, and skeet shooting (surcharges).

In the winter months, the resort offers skiing with snow machines and chairlifts, and ice skating at an Olympic-size rink (surcharges).

“The Homestead is the Best!”

The Homestead has not wavered in its excellence in service, cleanliness, and quality in the 10 years+ that we have been visiting the resort. It is, hands down, one the best places we've encountered in our travels both in and out of the country.

“Great but Expensive”

We had a great time at the Homestead. Everything was beautiful, and the surroundings were so peaceful. The only thing we didn't like was that in addition to the price of the room and resort fees, guests have to pay even more to do any of the activities. The pool was free, but seriously...

“Great stay!”

“Pricey, but nice.”

Everything was perfect. We were on vacation for our anniversary, and 'treated ourselves' to this luxurious hotel. I don't think I would stay there for a 'routine' occasion, because of the price. Expedia's price was great, because it didn't include the 'resort fee' ($20-40, I think).

“Very impressive”

tp quality hotel with lots of things to do,wish i had made reservations at the 1776 grill because it was booked up the whole stay and should have brought my fly rod,the front porch was very relaxing also

“Lots of charm”

I felt so relaxed at the Homestead. It has an old world quality but there is as much as you would want to do or you don't have to do anything. The food was quite good and the service exceptional.
