“Can't wait to go back next year!”

Enjoyed our stay very much - excellent location for scuba divers - close proximity to everything. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

If you enjoy Italian food be sure to go to Prima. it was excellent, beautiful view and the service was impeccable.

“nice dive hotel!”

While this wasnt a dive trip, I did find it comfortable enough, AFTER I spent the $50 upgrade fee ($10 per night) from the "standard room" they showed when I first checked in. The room was very small, very worn down (I think that was mold on the little couch ) and overlooked a even more run down rooftop. the new room it looked more like the room shown on the website and it offered a side view of the ocean. The room was clean, and while the water never got exactly hot, it was warm. A/C worked great though. I didnt try their dive operation as I said its wasnt a dive trip this time. I only had time for one night dive with another operation but they had a nice dock and bridge spanning the road. Restaurant is convenient but like most things that are convenient the food was not very good. You would be much better off going to the Mission.. Keep this in mind if you are a foodie because traxi into town every night can add up. The hotel is not really near anything. Ernesto's is across the street and not as good as it once was. If a basic inexpensive hotel is what you are looking for then this is a good choice. The room is comfy the dive op looks good and the pool and bar are OK. Friendlyness of the staff can't be beat.Very nice staff here. Wi-Fi is free but is only available in the lobby area. The bar would have been well served if they extended coverage to that area. Maybe they will in the future.

“Stay Here For Wonderful Service At Economical Price!”

This is a lovely, quaint hotel and all of the staff at Casa del Mar are absolutely top-notch! I would definitely stay there again!! They create a very welcoming and accommodating environment in the tropical paradise that is Cozumel!

“Love this place !!!!”

This is the second time I have been here. The staff is very friendly, I think the food is good and its a great base for your dive adventure. The front desk will get you almost any thing you need. We wanted to rent a scooter to tour the island our last day so they contacted a rental agency and it was delivered to the hotel. We had an initial issue with the scooter and the brought us another one ! On top of that the staff remembered me from last year. What a great place !

Area recommendations

Downtown is a massive tourist area (jewelry stores, trendy clubs, ect). Our main purpose in Cozumel was diving so almost any reef area is fantastic. The windward side of the island has some great beaches and is always empty. Hope you have a great time !

“Good rooms, Good price.”

I've stayed here before and was hoping that this experienced would be as enjoyable as the last. I was disappointed that my rom this time did not have a balcony to hand my wet scuba equipment as I had last time. Last time I booked through Bookit though and this time through Expedia who I will never use again. This property is away from town so there's a bit less going on and it's more quiet. Hotel Cozumel by comparison has the largest swimming pool in Cozumel and has entertainment nightly. Food at Casa Del Mar is better and Ernesto's across the street is superb! The dive shop at Hotel Cozumel is better but also has more people on the boats. Both are good for shore dives.

Must see

If you are diving, take the ferry to Playa Del Carmen on a sunny day and dive the Choc Mool Cenote with Scorpio Divers. If you are there between November and March, do the dive with the bull sharks with Phantom Divers in Playa!

Ernesto's Fajitas is excellent! Their banana margaritas were great! Their fajitas and service are superb! Shrimp quesadillas are great. Shrimp omelet is outstanding too! Ernesto's is why I won't do the all inclusive plan!

“It was ok.”

There were ants in the bathrooms, and we were unable to get the room we requested until 3 days into the trip. Also, the power kept going on and off throughout the last two days. We were able to use the pool and the bar, however, the "beach" attached to our hotel was very rocky upon entering the water, to the point where we cut our feet. It was an average experience.

Area recommendations

Downtown Cozumel is great, plenty of food and shopping/entertainment.

“Alright, but nothing special.”

Hotel is clean. Price was right. there was no deadbolt on the door which bothered me, but I always felt safe. Do not rent a car through the agency at the hotel they tried to rip us off on fuel. Food at the restaurant was OK, nothing special.

Area recommendations

Really enjoyed walking toward town center. The Blue Angel outdoor restaurant was wonderful -- great food, awesome staff, good drinks, great view of the ocean, great prices.
