Very nice facility, the staff was so friendly, rooms were very clean the only issue was the linens had a musty smell but the staff would change them upon request. Would definitely return.

Stay away from Cozumel if you are not a diver.

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Nothing special
Cons: Everything . Rooms are small and filthy. Long waiting in the bars even when no people. Not enough sits in the lobby.
Location: Nothing to do if you are not diver
Grate diving, the rest is very basic. If you do not do diving you better go to main land (Rivera Maya) and get better value for your money. Territory is fairly small, and nothing too exiting. It is nothing to do there apart from diving, 30$ to go to the city on taxi and no shuttle bus. Stay away from Cozumel if you are not diver. I am a diver and this is my 4th trip to Cozumel and I feel sorry every time I am there for non divers, as there is nothing else to do there.

Nice place to stay

Posted Jan 18, 2015
Pros: Type of accommodations, friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: More hooks in the bathroom to hang damp clothes.
Location: Good location, about 25 minute drive or taxi ride from town.
Wonderful, friendly staff. Small, but comfortable rooms, we upgraded to an ocean view and are happy that we did. I like that you are not in a normal hotel setting with hallways. When we were at our room, one of us was always in the hammock! The food was good and plentiful. There were quite a few activities and also kayaks and catamarans available through the dive shop. We would certainly go back to the Iberostar!

Divers' Convenience

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: Staff was awesome! Diving was So easy. Ridiculously easy from here.
Cons: The bathrooms in the hotel were tiny without a tub to relax in. Room cleaning was hit or miss.
Location: Do lazy snorkeling from Chankanaab right from the steps they have concreted into the beach. Point Sur snorkeling is great for better swimmers, too.
We went here solely for the convenience of diving, as Dressel Diving Club is literally on the hotel beach with everything a diver could ask for from multiple dive trip choices to any needed equipment to fantastic guides. That did not disappoint. That being said, the non-diver (me) in a party should note that this is not a luxury hotel where you will be pampering yourself there (althought the massages at the spa with Ruffina were to die for) and you will want a car rental the whole time to get out and about (which I had and used daily to explore this awesome and safe island). With those things taken care of, I was able to connect with other non-divers and head out to all the other beaches and parks in which to snorkel and also get to town and around the island to shop and site see at my leisure. Rent a car from Foxx car rental at the airport through Expedia and that is an easy pick up and return. Will we stay here again? Sometimes. We decided to do this hotel every other trip to Cozumel just for diving convenience but keep trying better ones in between for the luxury and beach aspect for me!

Disappointing for an Iberostar Hotel. The shower flooded into the bedroom, the room was small, no lighting at the closet, and the cable TV did not have any English speaking news channels. The drapes wouldn't close completely, so privacy was an issue.

Beautiful Place

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: The grounds and location
Cons: quality of food
Location: rent a jeep and go to Punta Del Sur Marine Park, see the salt water crocodiles, and beautiful beaches.
This resort is very nice, the grounds are beautiful, you can walk around in the jungle like atmosphere, and see iguanas, armadillos, peacocks, turtles, flamingos, and some feral cats. The rooms are not huge, but not small either, but very comfortable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and most all spoke good english. If there was a draw back, it would be the food, it was not bad, but not great either. Some items quickly became your favorite, such as the grouper or mahi mahi , but others you quickly learned to avoid. However, we didnt go for the food, we went to dive, and this resort is the closest to the reefs, which made it great to be picked up by our dive shop and be diving 15 minutes later, and the second dive was usually done 100 yards from the dock. If you are going to dive, I recommend you check with a dive shop in town, the dive operation at the hotel appeared to be interested in running numbers through, not necessarily providing quality dive trips. Lots of people per boat, and someone told us they werent getting a complete air fill on the tanks. We dove with Dive Paradise, and they picked us up at the dock at our preschedule time.

Warm pool, nice pier and beach.

Posted Jan 4, 2015
If you want to relax on the beach or poolside this is a great place. The pier is convenient for snorkeling and is great for diving. Dressel divers is onsight and is run very smooth. The food is great, the staff is friendly and the resort is clean.

Recht dunkle Zimmer, aber gute Versorgung

Posted Dec 30, 2014
