“Great Last Minute Getaway/ A lot for our money”

The beach was clean, but the water was dark from all the seaweed. The water was clear on the other side of the pier, so we grabbed snorkel equipment and headed down there. I'm not much of a drinker, so the watered down drinks didn't bother me. Really, so what if they are, order another, they're all included. I never saw any waiters walking the beaches offering refills, but there are two bars that are right on the beach. For the most part the food was very good. We ate at the buffet all week, and the menu rotates daily. One day might be Italian (some VERY good jalapeno pizza) and the next day might be Oriental (which wasn't so good). The breakfast was always tasty: traditional American breakfast food along with refried beans and enchiladas everyday. It offered something for everyone. Just know when you get there that this place is a time share... As soon as we walked in they handed us drinks and wanted to know when they could "invite you to a free breakfast" (??? all of our meal are already included) and a short presentation. They will compensate you for your time with a rental car and tickets to something if you have time... If we would have had time we would have done this, but when we turned them down they didn't bother us anymore...

“I hated to leave!!”

I read the reviews before I went, and have come to the conclusion that some people are very hard to please. I couldn't have asked for more! One of the chef's even cooked a tuna I caught in the morning for my lunch! Everyone was helpful and very gracious, you didn't feel like they were hovering for a tip; they just wanted to take care of you! They were very kind and accomadating hosts

This was my 4th stay at the Melia Cozumel. Have been very satisified. Good food and clean room. Staff is very friendly.

“Good trip”

The hotel was great. We enjoyed our experience. Two things to consider though. First, two of the four days the water was extremely merky in front of the hotel. Second, the hotel is on the far north end of the island and a taxi is $14 to town and another $14 back to the hotel. These issues were fine with our group. The overall experience was great, but if you wanted to do a lot with town you may consider something closer.

“La Melia was fabulous!!”

After reading mixed reviews, we were a little concerned about what we would fine but Melia Cozumel turned out to be beyond our expectations. It's nice beach and great views made for a perfect stay. We loved eating outdoors. Our room was very nice and overall we thought the service and hotel employees were great. All in all, we had a fabulous stay!!!

Even though we went during off season, the service, food, rooms and overall experience was great!!

“Will return to relax!”

Great place to relax. Very low energy atmosphere. Beach is fantasic, water warm and sand is soft. Plenty of loungers to lay and read and sleep at both beach areas and pools. The staff was very accomadating. My husband enjoyed the golfing. Food and spa services were great.

Can't wait to go back. Wants to make sure you are comfortable. Don't be afraid to ask if you need something.

I enjoyed my stay, go to the iguana grill and the other restaurants. It comes with the room but you need to make a reservation.
