“One of the best in Cozumel”

Clean hotel. Good service. Inclusive food is good, but not great. There is always something you can find to eat. Biggest complaint is that they used to have guacamole out for lunch and dinner and don't anymore. Nor do they have the ice cream machines anymore.

Getting there
If you can get a flight to Cancun for a lot cheaper, do it. The ferry ride to Cozumel is very easy.

“Awesome vacation! Clean hotel with friendly staff!”

We had a great stay at Park Royal! Once you get past the timeshare vultures in the lobby (their shirts say Royal Holiday, not Park Royal) everything is great! All the staff we encountered were so genuinely friendly and really seemed to want us to have a great time. Everywhere was always sparkling clean and well maintained. Great food and lots of brand name liquor choices. There was always a variety at the buffet with extremely prompt service from the waiters. The bartenders were amazing, always remembering who we were and what we drank. The pools were awesome and the Salsa show at night was a blast! Overall we were extremely impressed with the staff and had a wonderful experience! We will definitely go back and recommend this place to our friends!

Getting around
Don't let the people at the airport force you to take their transportation and tell them where you are staying. Just walk past them, ignore them and walk down to the gate and catch a taxi. It is much cheaper than their regulated transportation at the airport.

“Nice all Inclusive”

Had a great time. A few things to make sure you take... Make sure you have conditioner. Hotel doesn't provide it. Only shampoo. Lots of bitting bugs. Take bug spray. Hot tubs outside aren't hot. The same tempurature as the pools. The front desk clerks aren't too concerned about any complaints you might have. The hotel itself is very clean and rooms are very nice and large. Lot's of good food and drinks. Staff (besides the front desk) is very friendly.

Shopping
Downtown is not very far. Cab ride is inexpensive and lots of places to shop.

“Great hotel, very clean!!”

I have to say that I am very impressed with the hotel. The stuff is very friendly and the place is amazingly clean. Not just the hotel but every single place that we went. The only issue we had is that the company that was suppose to pick us up from the airport never showed up, we talked to thes as we arrived at the hotel and they agreed to take us to the ferry on an specific day and again they never showed up. Other than that everything was great, the island is beautiful, beaches are great. Just a lot expensive of what I thought. Prices are same as here. Overall, great vacations. My kids were so happy!!!! Definately going back again.

“mexico 2011”

great location, food good, pool areas beautiful. only down side was that the rooms smelled moldy and after your clothes had been in there a couple of days they also smelled.

Area recommendations
If you are shopping, go downtown and tell them you are staying on the island, not coming in on a cruse ship. the prices start a good $15-$20 cheaper. Also, buy a ticket to see the baby turtles being released if you are there during that season. That was an experience you won't forget.

“Wonderful Place - Wonderful People”

This resort was awesome. The food was really good in all the restaurants. The staff everywhere was friendly and helpful. We were not approached by any salesman or time share people. My only complaint is the that the beds are pretty stiff.

“Great Experience”

Me and my fellow 5 travelers (group of 6 friends) were extremely pleased with the Park Royal. The service was exceptional - people were very friendly and helpful. I have stayed at other all inclusives and I thought food was better at this resort than other AIs. The Italian and Mexican ala carte restaurants were wonderful - especially the Mexican. The buffet always had something new and interesting - quite a variety of food. The bartenders were super and drinks were delicious. There were many pools to choose from, as well a beach and snorkeling area - something for everyone. Room/maid service was wonderful - they did a fantastic job every day. Overall, I was very happy and would definitely return. Only cons - beds are somewhat hard and small (doubles) and no frig in room - but wasn't a huge deal.

Area recommendations
We didn't leave the resort much, but did go to Carlos & Charlies for salsa dancing downtown, which was really fun. I highly recommend AlexScuba for scuba diving! He's awesome. Find him on tripadvisor.
Getting there
It's easy to catch the shared van from the airport, and a taxi on the way back. About $10 for the taxi, and $8 or 10 for the van.

“Great choice for a family trip in paradise!”

Nice resort for the family. Employees are nice, resort is very clean. Food is good enough but not great. There is something for everyone at the buffet though. Some items are better than others. The fried Mahi Mahi is excellent! Beds are a little hard but never had a problem sleeping after a day of fun in the sun. Kid's Club is awesome and Claudia is so sweet and funny! I would not recommend to couples because of all the families but to each his own....if it does not bother you, then great. My main complaint would be that the resort is not very handicap friendly. My mother has trouble walking on uneven surfaces but she did mange to get around. The rock surface throughout the resort makes it impossible for a wheelchair. An electric scooter is ideal but hard to get one there. No one rents them in Cozumel. There are steps here, there and yonder but a few ramps too. Overall, I would not recommend to a totally handicap person. Other than that, very tropical and relaxing vacation!

Area recommendations
Local beaches with food and drink service is the best if you want to feel pampered!
Getting there
15 minutes from airport...if you have a lot of people in your party, it's cheaper to get a taxi when you get there. The rate coming back to the airport is even cheaper!
Getting around
Taxis are everywhere...car and moped rentals are everywhere too, renting for the day is good and it's a 24 hour period
Must see
Snorkeling is awesome!
Shopping
Good shopping...don't be afraid to bargain, they say it's been slow so they will negotiate!
Dining
Casa Mission is a very nice, intimate hacienda restaurant...but no air conditioning (night time is good though).
Family-friendly activities
Lots of activites all over. But the Kid's Club at Park Royal is great for games, puzzles, bracelet making, movies, etc...
Outdoors or beach
Beaches and water are beautiful

“The definition of paradise”

Cozumel is just a fantastic little island! The water is the most beautiful blue I've ever seen, the people are amazingly friendly, the scenery is picturesque, and life is just laid back in this quaint town. I was a little hesitant to stay at an all inclusive, because I read some differing reviews about it, but I'm happy to report it exceeded my every expectation. I already had high expectations going into it, but the level of service and respect the employees at the Park Royal show you is unbelievable. You've got a few options for food, probably the least impressive thing about the place (still not bad by any means), a buffet and two restaurants. The food not being amazing made us not want to gorge ourselves. The rooms are modern and clean and have a great air conditioning system which is invaluable after a day in the tropical heat. The only other part I disliked was the humidity, but se la vie. Overall we had an amazing time and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Can't wait to go back there again.

Area recommendations
Check out Mr. Sanchos Beach club, spend a day in downtown shopping, take a ferry to Playa del carmen (overhyped). Rent a scooter and go around the island. Eat at Chi chinese restaurant in downtown.
Getting around
If youre going to do a lot of sight seeing which there really isnt much to do on the island, you can rent a car. It will run you about 60-85 usd depending on whether you want the full coverage insurance or not. We did that an only ended up going to a beach club and downtown which would have costed us about 40 if we cabbed it.
