“Will return again and again”
This is our favorite hotel on the island. Small, quiet and convienent it is an oasis for us.
“Wonderful, we will go back.”
This was the slow season. We enjoyed sharing he hotel with about 3 other couples. Everything was clean and the saff could not have been more pleasant. The golf was very good. It had rained alot causing he "cart path only" rule to be in effect. The course was excellent and very well maintained. With free green fees and only $30 per person for the cart all day you can't go wrong. The bartender (Marcel) was very helpfull by recomending places to eat in town. We plan on going back next Sept or Oct an doing it all over again.
“Will stay there again and again and again!!!!!”
Extreamly pleased with all aspects of our stay at Playa Azul. Small, 4 story botique hotel with ocean view from every room. Several eating options on grounds from casual to fine dining including free breakfast buffet. Free golf at Cozumel Country Club, and dive shop on the grounds with pick up at their pier. Beach area is great for sun seekers, a little tough to get around rocks to get in the water, but once there nice swimming and snorkeling right in front of the hotel. To far to walk to town so must use cab each way, a little spendy but still cheeper then car rental. If (when) we return to Cozumel we will without doubt stay at Playa Azul.
“We will return and with more friends --”
Service could not be better. Beds were very firm which was good for us. Food and wait service was excellent. The golf package is the best in Q-Roo. Cozumel CC was a great "target golf course" and very well mainained. Beach was a bit rocky near shore but manageable. We plan to come back and bring our friends. I've made many trips to Mexico but this was the best. If they could improve anything it might be some sort of morning and evening shuttle to town and back.
“Golfers paradise,Beautiful beach What more do you need!!”
We chose La Playa Azul for the reviews we read on expedia and they were all right except the negative ones. This place is clean and beautiful. The breakfast is awesome. My wife loved the beach area, it was small but not crowded. This is a great hotel for people looking for a quiet vacation without all the crowds of the big all-inclusives.The fact that I only had to pay $30 a day for golf on a $170 dollar a round golf course was reason enough to come here. Only hotel on the island that includes green fees. The wait staff is super friendly incuding the owner who also a golfer you will see around during your stay. This was our first trip here and we are already booking a return trip next year.
“Big isn't always better, and Playa Azul proves it!”
The resort met and exceeded my expectations. I was a little nervous about going with a smaller, not all-inclusive hotel, but it turned out to be a great decision. The small, yet well maintained resort had beautiful balcony views and nice accomodations overall. Although it was not all-inclusive, the resort offered plenty of ammenities with restaurants indoors and beachside with reasonable prices, plus a great complimentary breakfast buffet by the sea. The food I had at the resort was great and it was so nice to be able to charge things to the room so I didn't have to carry around cash. The resorts sits right on the beach and it's small size make it's extremely easy to access for a good span of shoreline and I loved that. The hotel gives youa complimentary beach towel and service by the water was great. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at Playa Azul! Their friendly attitudes and kind nature truly made the resort an exceptional place to stay. The golfing was also great and I highly recommend the restaurant across the street (to the left of the more expensive and better known Loster House). It had some of the best lobster/seafood on the island, and an out of this world Key Lime Pie. Don't be deceived by the somewhat diveish look of this place. You won't be disappointed! This was a fabulous, relaxing vacation spot and I am already trying to schedule time to book my next trip to Playa Azul.
“Relaxation”
Excellent remote spot. Not in the center of the action. Convienient spa. Convenient Golf. Easy to drive to and from. A few good walkable restaurant choices.
“Hotel Playa Azul Mexico wish we were still there”
Hotel Plya Azul offers Full service bar & a staff waiting to please you. Golfers haven free golf everyday all day long. Bring your clubs great 18 hole Arnold Palmer design. Best restraurant right at the hotel. No pestering venders ever on the beach. Small beach but easiest axcess to the water. Playa Azul is simply the best. Ask me, Rick O.
“A Terrific Gem”
We have been to Playa Azul many times over the past 10 years and we always have had a great experience. The staff is extraordinary, helpful, warm and welcoming. Playa Azul is on the north end of the island away from the hustle bustle of the cruisers. The beach is comfortable with great snorkling. The spa has very competent massage therapists. Playa Azul has become our home away from home in Cozumel 1
“Great Trip”
Playa Azul was a great experience. My husband and I went for our 8th anniversary and found everything about Playa Azul was great for an anniversary. Breakfast was wonderful each morning, the beach is great, the dive shop located on site was wonderful. They have a pool experience guests can try to see if they would be interested in diving. I did this and ended up going on two dives during our trip, which were incredible. I plan to get certified very soon. We also indulged in messages at the spa - as good as any message I have had at the Four Seasons. My husband and I also decided this would be a good place to bring our kids next summer so we'll be back. The only bad thing was the beds - they are pretty hard.
