Pure Heaven, Peaceful Hotel, Wonderful Staff!!Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: The food was wonderful and a lot of variety. The staff was very accommodating and so kind. The hotel was quiet and beach was private and perfect!
Cons: We got massages at the spa and they were not that great. I heard the facials were amazing though! Other than that everything was spot on!!
Location: We went flats fly fishing caught bone fish. Went deep sea fishing caught mahi mahi and wahoo. Rented a scooter rode around island - SO FUN!!
We are a couple in our early 30's and wanted a quiet/private place to relax and enjoy the beach and we got more than we could have ever asked for! Always plenty of loungers available right on the beach at Playa Azul and every single spot had amazing views, crystal clear blue/green waters, and plenty of amazing food and drinks! We got All-Inclusive package and were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The breakfast buffet was wonderful but the real treat was the entire menu! We loves the jicama ceviche, all the tacos, coconut shrimp, lobster, surft&turf, shrimp fettucini, and the GUAC!! We never got tired of the food and didn't get through even half the menu. They have special evening menu that is wonderful. Went deep sea fishing and caught a Wahoo and the hotel cooked it for us. Pina Coladas, Tequila, Beers, everything and everyone was wonderful! Special thanks to Darwin a waiter at Playa who made us a very special heart out of a dollar bill Also Ivan, Alberto, Felipe, Alejandro (just to name a few). The sunsets were magnificent, snorkeling incredible Rented a kayak and snorkel gear at shop next door and were so happy we did! They turned down our bed and gave us chocolates at night, huge bottles of fresh water, fresh flowers with cute swan towels on bed. Patio was great, views and sunsets were unforgettable. If you want a quiet, relaxing, private beach front vacation go to Playa Azul! We will be back! *ps we did a timeshare presentation in Playa del Carmen and it is NOT worth your time!!*

Nice hotel sitting on a coral beachPosted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Quiet area. Small hotel, only 50 rooms so it's not really crowded. We enjoyed the relaxing breakfast and relaxed atmosphere of the entire place.
Cons: We like to snorkel and the snorkeling out front was not very good but that's not a problem with the hotel.
Location: There were restuarants across the street, two to be exact. One did not take credit cards and we had no cash with us. Quiet surroundings.
Nice hotel with a coral beach. They have only a small amount of space and have used it very well to create a nice beachfront atmosphere. Sandy area but little sandy access to swimming. Nice pool area. The breakfast, which was included in our stay, was cooked to order and very good. We at at the hotel restuarant one evening and it was a little disappointing. We enjoyed being in the North hotel zone. It was quiet but only a short drive into town. I would recommend a rental car.

Perfect GetawayPosted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: We like the smallness and the fact that there were only 50 rooms. The staff is wonderful and so friendly they became like family.
Location: It's away from the town and the cruise ships coming in but it was nice to see them passing by in the distance. We did a lot of snorkeling close by.
This was our second year staying there and we will definitely be back.

Great stay....Posted Feb 23, 2014
Had a great stay....we did not do all-inclusive but the breakfast buffet was really good... Beach area was nice...soft sand and none of that smelly algae we got at the Melia...a bit rocky at the water entrance but worth navigating through it.... Staff was outstanding.... Location okay but had to take a taxi to golf course... Would have preferred a hotel shuttle with the golf package.
