“Cozumel - AUG 2011”
This place is great. The level of service and guest comfort is the best we have experienced anywhere in Mexico. Beautiful resort with great facilities. Rooms are very clean; AC worked great. Service staff is very friendly. We were there with our two daughters who loved the beach and suntanning. The food and drink services are outstanding. Great breakfast buffet included in our package. We rented a small car and used it to go around the island and out to dinner. A half day trip around the east side of the island is recommended. Very different beaches (Atlantic) and many watering holes with great atmosphere. For dinner, we recommend the Lobster House (across from the Playa Azul hotel). They only take cash, be prepared. Lobster was great and so is the atmosphere at the place. Cozumel is an awesome place. The Presidente is by far the top of the line in accomodations and servi ce.
“Lovely Stay”
Loved the beach, the pool, the diving & snorkeling right off shore. Lovely grounds, location a bit isolated, not close enough to walk to anywhere else but taxis available 24-7, also rental car desk inside hotel. Very friendly staff, nice sized room, loved the views, the bedding and especially the towels (beach sized bath towels). Unlimited towels for beach & pool, no card to keep up with or log sheet to sign just fresh towels available for use anytime. There was such limited space to hang things to dry and the lighting was rather subdued. Both restaurants had good but a bit pricy food & drinks, but it's vacation so you expect & are prepared to pay more. Would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely relaxed stay.
“Truely Best Location on the Island”
I wanted to stay at a hotel with everything - service, comfort and location. I was completely satisfied. The service was outstanding. The accomodations were well maintained and very comfortable. And the location was unbeatable. I walked out of my room right into one of the best reefs on the island. I could spend my day snorkeling, hanging out at the nice private beach of swimming in the pool. The hotel also had all ocean services right on-site (scuba expeditions, snorkel adventures, jet skis or just a fun sunset boat ride). No need to ever leave the resort. Definitely will be back here next year.
“Meals and drinks are very expensive”
We have been going to this hotel since 1998 and have always been very happy with the accommodations and the food. The hotel, itself, is still worth paying the higher prices but the menu prices are extremely high. We limited ourselves to eating twice a day otherwise our food bill for the two of us for one week would have been $2500 to $3000.
“A beautiful hotel that is starting to show it's age”
This is a beautiful hotel that is starting to show its age. It is in need of some maintenance and cleaning. Other than that, the staff is very helpful and there is a beautiful beach with a bar nearby. And yes, we would go back.
“I will go back again.”
This hotel is beautiful and the service is excellent. People are very nice. We went out to snorke most of other famous beach in Cozumel. It turn out this hotel got its own one of best palces for snorkeling. You don't have to pay extra fees. The only complaint I have is the wireless signal is bad in my unit. You have to go to the lobby to have the internet services.
“Will return!”
Hotel service was excellent; scuba du dive shop great; beach perfect and security #1!
“Excellent Hotel for Quiet Getaway”
We recently got back from the Presidente after spending 7 wonderful days there for our honeymoon. The hotel is a little ways away from downtown but that is really what we were looking for to stay away from the "cruise ship" crowd that invades the downtown area for a few hours each day. It is a short $8 usd taxi ride into town if you want to see the local area which we highly recommend. The dive shop there "Scuba Du" was awesome and our instructor Francisco was the greatest! We had a beachfront room and the view was worth a million dollars. The hotel is a little older but well maintained and staffed with excellent people that have wonderful customer service.
“Beautiful hotel with some problems”
All the reviews are correct. We too, had a problem with the time share staff. They grab you and try to make you think they are helping you with things to do in Cozumel. When you realize it's a sales pitch and you don't want to participate, they get very upset. The food was extremely expensive and okay. The buffet was covered in flies. Our room was comfortable but the bathroom was not very well lit and the hallway where the closet was, was also very dark. We were told not to tip because there was a charge added to our room everyday for just that. When we didn't tip, the staff was insulted. The hotel itself is beautiful with it's porches and views. It's a very relaxing place to be. I would go back again. The staff of the hotel is extremely helpful and kind. It is their utmost importance to keep the traveler happy. There are two pools, our adult pool was lovely and private. Sitting on the beach was terrific with chairs and plenty of covering to be out of the sun. We used the spa services and found them to be excellent. The only two issues I have are the lighting in our particular bathroom and the expensive food. Otherwise, it was absolutely beautiful.
“Beautiful and perfect for adults and children alike.”
This is a 5 star hotel without question. Beautiful beaches, wonderful and relaxing pools, delicious food. The concierge service was great as was all staff. Top notch snorkeling right off the beaches at the hotel. I will return to this delightful hotel. We did an introductory scuba dive at the hotel with Sandra who was wonderful. We can't wait to get certified. Only complaint was the price of the food at the hotel restaurant. It over priced.
