“Great experience”
The staff is really, really helpful and nice. The hotel pays a lot of attention to detail-from hibiscus blossoms scattered around the room to a cool drink and towel when you check in. I have never felt so well-cared for at a hotel. The food was at the main restaurant was very good. The kitchen kept sending out little amuse bouches. Very fun.
“Spring Break 2010”
We had a wonderful time in Cozumel at the Presidente. Everyone was very friendly and very tolerant of our attempts to speak Spanish. Some pressure to attend a sales pitch, but still gracious even though we declined. If ordering the breakfast plan, be sure to clarify up front who is covered. We were told upon arrival that our two children were not covered (as they were staying in the same room as us), but the hotel honored the plan for our kids..
“Best hotel on the island.”
Great service. Friendly staff. Beaches clean and not crowded.
“Great Hotel”
Great location. Second time back. Hotel services was great. The timeshare sales pitch was a bit overwhelming and persistent.
“Excellent Hotel for Quiet Getaway”
We recently got back from the Presidente after spending 7 wonderful days there for our honeymoon. The hotel is a little ways away from downtown but that is really what we were looking for to stay away from the "cruise ship" crowd that invades the downtown area for a few hours each day. It is a short $8 usd taxi ride into town if you want to see the local area which we highly recommend. The dive shop there "Scuba Du" was awesome and our instructor Francisco was the greatest! We had a beachfront room and the view was worth a million dollars. The hotel is a little older but well maintained and staffed with excellent people that have wonderful customer service.
“FANTASTIC!!!”
Everything was great. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommadating. It was the most relaxing trip my husband and I have ever been on.
“Far from the Cruise Ship Throng!”
Lovely, quiet resort about a 10 minute drive from the downtown area. Fabulous snorkeling right off the beach; the afternoon we arrived we threw on our masks and fins and dove right in and saw a huge spotted eagle ray, trumpet fish, barracuda (not of a nervous-making size), technicolor reef fishies, a spotted green moray eel, and several well-camouflaged little rays within a very few minutes. The sand entry just off the breakfast pavillion (to the south) is fabulous for little kids or nervous snorkelers; I counted 6 or 7 species of tropical fish in the first foot of water. You could literally sit on your butt in 4" of water and see dozens of fish with a mask or goggles! Hammocks and thatched umbrellas all over; friendly, mellow service available on the beach. Check out the iguanas between the parking area and the putting green and marina! There are dozens of smaller grayish ones and a handful of much larger orange (males) and orange-tinted (females) ones which rather clumsily, and amusingly, climb the trees. I would *not* describe them as tame; admire with a respectful distance. We only had breakfast at the hotel, which was a nice, slightly Mexicanized (quesadillas to order, instead of omelettes) fancy hotel buffet. I grew addicted to the mysterious "green juice"; which was super yummy (kiwi and pineapple and wheat grass?) and seemed somehow virtuous. Would absolutely stay there again.
“BEST HOTEL ON COZUMEL”
Obviously we havent stayed at every place on the island, but our experience at the Presidente was absolutely wonderful. The only gripe we had was that the coffee was bad!! But we had our daily trip into town (Sorrisi Italian Restaurant on Street 3 - the BEST Gelato and Coffee!!) ad we were happy. Scuba Du were great for diving, right on the hotel property. If you are thinking about this hotel, stop thinking and book it!
“Great location, we had a nice room on the beach”
Overall nice hotel. Restaurant choices are limited without taking a taxi into town
“Will Return to Paradise Again”
Our third time to Cozumel, second time to El Presidente Hotel - still one of the rare slices of Paradise on this side of the earth. Because of ongoing renovations on the north side of hotel, we were upgraded to south side beach front rooms. The rooms, beach, pool, grounds and service were wonderful. For dinner, go downtown to El Capi's (seafood) and La Choza (real mexican)- both excellent.
