A basic hotel in a very quaint setting. This said it has a very good restaurant and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Good hotel for short breaksPosted Sep 25, 2014
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. It is a good small family hotel where attention to detail is important. It represents excellent value for the price and the dinners are well prepared and represent very good value. Rooms facing the square can be noisy if left open at night due to traffic but this has not been an issue to us. Short term parking in the square and secure overnight parking nearby is good.

Very good two star hotelPosted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: The owners were delightful.
Cons: The toilet cubicle is a bit 60s France.
Location: Near to the motorway is the greatest asset
The hotel is two star, so don't expect luxury, but it was very clean and comfortable. The owners were charming, the food was good and the position was very convenient for a stopover from Calais. Nothing very much in the town itself to warrant staying longer. I would return.

Excellent value hotelPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Fantastic friendly welcome and good value
Location: Lovely village square, handy stop off about 2 hours from Calais
Very pleasant hotel in lovely village. We had a great welcome from very friendly hosts, the hotel offered not only a great value room but also a very pleasant dinner and breakfast. We had a spacious family room with wifi for the kids and would have stayed here on our way back to the uk if a room had been available. We will certainly stay again

Excellent food but bedroom could have been betterPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The Food and staff
Cons: Better mattresses on the beds
Location: In the centre of a lovely old fashioned village
We enjoyed our stay here, the proprietor was very welcoming and humorous, the food was superb but the bed was rather uncomfortable.

A Gem of a PlacePosted Jun 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed here because of other recommendations and weren't disappointed! The service was amazing and the food was great! The hotel was dated but I expected that. If your in the area this is the place to stay! It's close to Laon, which is a town you don't want to miss.

Superb little hotel and fantastic value.Posted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: It's warm homey feel, location (right near a lovely little town square) and staff.
Cons: It's good as is.
Location: We only passed through - the village looks very nice.
I stayed there for one night with my wife and two daughters while we were on our way from London to Italy. We loved this place. It's old but has been really well maintained, was immaculately clean and was really well priced. The food at the restaurant was very good - we were impressed by the care taken in its preparation, its flavour and the overall quality of the meal. I'd highly recommend this place.

Excellent valuePosted Oct 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Clean comfortable room, very friendly service and a good evening meal. Some little touches that would put a 4* hotel to shame. First night's stay in France on this trip - a good prelude!

Great stop off on return to UK from s of FrancePosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Very welcoming proprietors, good food, spacious rooms. A private secure car park at no cost (but only about 4 spaces). Quiet situation.
Cons: A bit of cosmetic refurb in some of the rooms - especially bathrooms.
Location: Laon (15 mins) is very interesting with a superb cathedral. Close to several World War One sites, particularly the Chemin des Dames.
This was the sixth time we've stopped here returning from the Var to the UK. It is a lovely little hotel (6 rooms) in a village about 15 minutes off the Reims - Calais motorway. It is run by a couple. Laurent runs the reception, the bar and acts as waiter. Brigitte cooks dinner and serves breakfast. Laurent has good English. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds, and everything works. Some of the decor is a bit tired - bathroom tiles for instance - but towels are bigger and much better than those often seen in French budget hotels. The food is very good idea - magret particularly recommended - and the house wine served in carafes is excellent value. Guests are given a free bottle of chilled mineral water to take to their room at the end of the meal. Breakfast is made freshly - not one of those sad buffets - and is ample.
