Best hotel in Ecuador for valuePosted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We spent three nights at this beautiful and historic hotel. The location was perfect and I got a great shot of the cathedral domes from the top terrace. There are Multiple reading and lounging areas. The staff is helpful and informative. The breakfasts were the most ample of our stay in Ecuador. We travel a great deal and this is one of the best hotels in which we have stayed.

Beautiful HotelPosted Feb 12, 2014
Location: The hotel is located conveniently in the historic area of Cuenca. If at all possible, get a reservation at Tiestos Restaurant before you go.
We have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this was without a doubt one of the most delightful. The hand painted designs all over the hotel were beautiful and fun to find in the little hidden nooks and sitting areas. We felt that we were living back in another time when Cuenca was a Spanish Colonial city! The staff, especially Ivan and William did everything they could to make our stay perfect. Be sure to go up to the rooftop terrace at night to see the Cathedral lights from across the street. Don't miss this gem if you are visiting Cuenca!

what a find!Posted Dec 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Needed a place for 1nite and this sounded worth exploring. Secured parking nearby & reasonably priced. Had 1st floor room. Some motor ran all night & is either great white noise or really annoying. This hotel is in the midst of downtown overlooking a beautiful church. Go to the rooftop for an astounding evening view of the steeples. Caring staff that complements the extra touches put into the hotel. Wander about to see antiques, local art and lovely appointed sitting areas.

Noisy place!Posted Feb 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is a very charming place and would be complete if only it wasn't noisy. Our room was on the back side of the building away from the street yet the noise was from people talking in the corridor , kitchen staff doing their work( only a thin wall separated us from the kitchen . I could hear the clatter of pots and pans late in the evening. However everything was pretty quiet after ten or do. The free breakfast was excellent with scrambled eggs, sausage, thin ham slices variety of fresh fruits, breads, cereal, fresh squeezed juices just to name a few. The desk manager was outstanding and was very eager to help in any way he could. Excellent restaurant and very cheap. The daily almuerzo special is always good and costs $3.50. I would stay again , just wish they could control the noise.

This is what boutique hotels should all be like.Posted Mar 19, 2012
Pros: The friendliness of the staff, without exception, was my favourite thing about this hotel.
Location: Well located to the centre of town and the majority of tourist sites.
I enjoyed a single night stay at Morenica del Rosario and was sorry not to be able to stay longer. The friendliness of the staff; old world charm of the decor; and courteous service, including a good breakfast, made the whole experience very pleasant. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cuenca and I look forward to staying longer next time.
