Nicely appointed, clean room. Helpful and friendly staff. Cute neighborhood. Live music every night in the lobby bar/lounge. Great history. I would recommend staying here if you need to be in the Culver City area.

Stay here! It's beautiful and has a young, hip vibe. The staff is attentive and ready to help with anything. Great restaurants within walking distance.

“Historic Charm in Los Angeles”

Lovely property from the 1920's/30's with sprawling lobby filled with various seating arrangements, tables for casual dining, live music most nights, and a bar. Pleasant and efficient staff includes a great bartender. Movies, restaurants and shops within immediate walking distance. The room was small, but this wasn't a problem for us as we spent little time in it. The bathroom was large and updated. Generous breakfast every morning. Nice crowds at night include locals. We would chose this hotel again over any "box" motel.

“Sweet Surprise”

At first I was skeptical in staying in this hotel because of its star rating and usually on business I stay in large known chain hotels. Honestly can say I am very pleased with this trendy, homey, glamourous 40's style and clean hotel. It is next to a very nice area of shops, movies, restaurants and my favorite part was the deep jacuzzi bubble bath which they dont advertize. I would definitely stay here again. Not very family friendly, though as there is a bar/lounge always full of industry people in the evening hours. Very affordable.

The Culver Hotel has a friendly, helpful staff, and is in a great location to see all the sites of L.A. Parking was validated at a nearby garage, and the hotel bar was a great place to cap the night.. Recommended for travellers who want to stay in a place with a bit of history.. I'll definitely stay there again.

This hotel met and went above our expectations, you automatically think its going to be bad when people describe things as art deco, but this was art deco in its finest. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The rooms were big and comfortable and very clean. There are also really great restaurants across the street, a bit on the pricey side however I would definately stay there again

“Reminds me of the Grammercy Park Hotel in NYC”

Great little Hotel....slightly dated but comfortable. Accomodating staff, central location for my art board business, quaint little town. Needs a little update in drapes, bedding and rugs in room, but still clean, neat and comfortable.

“Quaint hotel with a great history A period piece”

If you are looking for a place with lots of character and history this is the place for you. The building was constructed in 1924 and has connections with the nearby Culver studios, Clark Gable having stayed here when filming Gone with the Wind and the Munchkins sleeping three to a bed when making the Wizard of Oz. The plumbing is a bit erratic and some redocorating is needed in the bedrooms but new mattresses were being installed during our stay and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very helpful indeed and extremely friendly. There is a very pleasant pedestrianised area surrounding the hotel and the picture house is just a stone's throw away. It is easy to get to Venice beach using the bus. Breakfast very basic with coffee and muffins, can be noisy to the front, I have heard but our rooms were at the back facing the cinema and there was a lot of skateboard noise but not enough to keep us from sleeping. I do not recommend for younger children as the sash and casement windows open. I did not see a stop to prevent them opening too wide and would be hesitant to imply this was not the case, but you should check this first. We loved our stay and would go back. Just loved it, the staff, the ambiance and the proximity of the cinema, the buses and Trader Joes and Coldstone ice cream. Not a standardised multi national.

“Great atmospheric old hotel”

While smelling a little dusty and musky and certainly not 5 star this is a great hotel which has many connections with Hollywood. The reception/bar area is absolutely stunning with a great atmosphere.
