Pleasant stay at Culver Hotel.

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Really has the feel of a boutique hotel from staff attitude to common area vibe, to room staff. The room (#44) was very quiet.
Cons: On a hot day the common areas were quite warm. I believe they are not air conditioned as the main and lounge area doors are always open.
Location: There are ample nice restaurants very close but not much shopping. The neighborhood to the south is nicely walkable/runable. Easy I-1- access nearby.
Spent a short weekend in LA and stayed at the Culver Hotel because it was close to an event we attended. Pleasant surprise. This is a nicely restored to period flatiron building. With the exception of one slip up (failure to confirm need for car valet) the desk staff was attentive, accommodating and quick to please. Same with the cordial room staff. We felt very welcome there. The room was very clean, and nicely sized (we had #44) with comfortable bed, good quality towels, adequate closet space, and a small but completely furnished bathroom. The AC unit cooled the room but worked full time to do so; thus, be prepared for full time fan. Our room was oriented to the adjacent pedestrian area so outside noise from Culver Blvd. was not an issue. It could be on the other side of the building but maybe not (the windows can be opened but are double pane). The common areas: The registration desk is the most understated I've ever seen but it completely works. Other boutique hotels should take notice. The lobby/lounge has high ceilings, very nice architectural detail, a nice bar adn lounge with excellent and responsive wait staff, and live music (from different bands) every night. It was awesome and very busy both Friday and Saturday nights. There is generous outdoor seating for drinks and dining outside as well. They have created a nice ambiance for it. One downside to the common areas is they do not seem air conditioned. Very good value.

This hotel is a real find.

Pros: The hotel itself is a historic building which is very well maintained. The location is terrific....eveything nearby is great, food, stores....
Cons: We were very satisfied that we had all our needs met and more.
Location: Very central location, food, stores, Culver Studies, access to freeway......lovely area to walk around, visually pleasing and very safe.
Starting with the Valet parking on the first day and arriving at an impeccably appointed room and spending Tuesday through Sunday, every detail, breakfast, was very well done. The Front Office Manager, David Hall, who seemed to be on duty 24/7 was as efficient as he was gracious about any and all requests. My room was very clean, very nicely appointed. The bathroom was always spotlessly cleaned. My WiFi worked well too. Thank you for making our stay feel like a very special time.

Nice location. Valet service prompt. Food reasonably nice.

Nice

Pros: decor
Cons: customer service
Location: sony studios
I originally booked a room with two queen beds. My son, daughter and I were attending my brothers funeral in Culver City. We were given a nice room with only one queen bed. We were not advised of this change. When we advised of the error we were told that they had no other rooms and no roll away beds so one of us had to sleep on a small uncomfortable sofa that was in the room. We received no discount. We stayed because we had the services that afternoon and the funeral early in the morning. room comfort is low because of this. Had there only been two of us the room comfort would have been good. NO effort was made to provide extra bed.

Charming with a European flair.

Pros: It is a charming old hotel in the Heart of Screenland. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of space and high ceilings. Great lobby and bar.
Location: The Culver Hotel is centrally located. Walking distance to numerous excellent restaurants, bars and a movie theater. Very close to the 10 and 405.
We arrived earlly (11 a.m.) but were given a room right away. The hotel staff were very accommodating and proficient. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and been able the hotel lounge bar, which seemed quite popular. The room has a small fridge where we kept some wine and snacks we bought at the Trader Joes just down the street. We didn't even need to go to the Starucks across the street because the hotel's coffee was so good.

The historic Culver hotel.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The staff and the area
Cons: Fix a few wobbly chairs and tables.
Location: Restuarants, markets, trader joes, film studios, culver City Studios where Gone with the Wind was filmed units entirety is right by the hotel.
Just home from eight nights at the Culver. A charming proabition style hotel built in 1924. The Decor is quaint (some things like tables wobble a little) but the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Filming was being done on The Masters of Sex second series one day which meant a little inconvenience and a Ford commercial was being made below our window another night which kept my husband (not me) awake. The bar upstairs is popular and again quaint and you never know who is popping in for a drink or meal. Continental breakfast included in our room price, was adequate and filling plus available till 10.30am. Remember you are in the heart of Culver City which is known for its film studios and theatres. We enjoyed a street market across from the hotel offering fresh fruits and flowers and other goodies. High tea is also on offer but needs to be booked 24 hours ahead,

This was a great place to stay when you're visiting LA. Nice central location, with easy access to some amazing eateries. My favorite being Father's Office!
