Very good - but could be even betterPosted Nov 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is a beautiful building in a lovely location and has really friendly helpful staff. However, it feels like the hotel is too big for the amenities. The welcoming information warns you that the restaurant gets very busy so you need to book and you may have to queue for breakfast unless you avoid certain times. I did not want to queue for breakfast but it felt like a burden having to get up early to avoid this. The hotel has a gym and a small swimming pool - buit again these are small for the size of the hotel, especially the changing rooms. Finally, I liked the breakfast but would have liked it even more if they served cold ham and smoked salmon. However, these are specifics and our overall feeling was that of having spent a weekend in luxury being served by very friendly helpful staff.

Location: The lake district!
Very busy hotel so good atmosphere. Rooms very comfortable and very well appointed including very convenient ironing boards! And great showers. Evening dinner was extremely good, interesting menu and beautifully cooked. Staff were super helpful and polite.

Wifes mini break. My work !Posted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: Freindly staff, clean and tidy. Nice to have a pub on site be able to vary between pub grubb and restaurant food.
Cons: Car parking was at a premium, difficult at times with events and health club visitors
Nice hotel, good location to Kendal and ideal for mini breaks to the lakes. I was working nearby each day and wifey was able to fill each day either shopping, walking or lazing round the hotel and using the health club.

Excellent service...all round enjoyable stayPosted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were somewhat wary of going to a "chain" hotel but the Castle Green hotel was excellent in all respects. The staff were fantastic from start to finish with nothing too much trouble, including giving us a (continental) breakfast before the usual start time on Sunday. The room was decently large, very comfortable, exceptionally clean and could not be faulted for the price. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide choice including some very good locally sourced produce. It's a large hotel on the edge of Kendal so may lack the "intimacy" that some people may want but for us it was excellent and we would recommend it.

Comfy clean room, a bit small but adequate. We had a room next to the reception which was a bit noisy due to people coming away from a wedding. Suggest you ask for a high no. Room ie-130 up. Good breakfast. We would stay here again.

Busy but friendly hotel!Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: The double beds are bit on the small size, so I'm glad I was travelling alone on business.
Location: The hotel is conveniently located near the town of Kendal.
This hotel is located in it's own pleasant grounds which unfortunately I couldn't explore as it rained for most of the two days I was there!

Lovely hotel in lovely surroundings, would also recommend the Alexandra's pub on site for a meal, very nice food at reasonable prices and staff are excellent.

Hotel at countrysidePosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Same as above
Hotel is nice. Staffs are very friendly. This is in countryside so car is essential . Going out to the countryside and see calf, cows around. Drive another 15 min comes to the lake. You can have a good view.
