“loved it”

First time in this part of the Lake District Loved it, Hotel could'nt have been better even got a lake view from our room, would definately go back.

For the cost of the room, the hotel is very disappointing. The decoration appears tired and dated. I had to search for a cereal bowl at breakfast to find one that looked sufficiently clean... the ones discarded appeared as if they had bits of dried food clinging to them. There was poor guest management - drunken wedding party guests were lounging next to the restaurant area having a crass discussion which completely put us off our food. We've stayed in the superior room before and we found it wonderful then. This time it was a bit rubbish. We were looking forward to using the jaccuzi, but was told it was temporarily out of action. It looks like it's been out of action for a good deal of time and looks in terrible condition! The sauna and steam room look tired, old, and more than a little run down. Their current state made them feel unhygienic and uninviting. All in all, we found it to be good enough to be awarded three star status... certainly no where near good enough for a four star establishment!
