We had a very pleasant stay here. It’s a lovely building and comfortable place to relax and unwind and the afternoon tea we had was exceptional. We had an issue with lights in the bedroom constantly flickering that we reported to reception but it was only temporarily fixed as it reoccurred again later in our stay. Drinks from the bar were pricey. And make sure you ring the bell at the bar if you need service because waiting staff are constantly absent doing other things; maybe they were just shorthanded when we were there but that’s how it seemed. Cleaning staff were great.

The driveway up to the hotel lets it down badly, there's loads potholes and some scattered litter at the entrance. Lovely well kept gardens and in a very quiet peaceful picturesque setting.

The staff were very helpful and friendly the place was homely the beds were comfortable The hotel was very warm the menu was lacking choice and we were able to write our name in the dust in the dining room

It is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, reception and other area has very clear signage. The room we were in was quite big, and everything that we need.

The staff made the stay. So attentive, nothing to much trouble. We took our dog with us and the dog was made just as welcome. We only stayed 1 night and would definately stay again

We have stayed before at the Brierywood, and also at the sister hotels the Cragwood and the Merewood. We have never had cause for complain. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Will be staying again.Hotel is handy for access to Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness for great choice of places to eat if you wish to on an evening. Even though meals at the hotel is excellent. I love the cooked breakfasts.
