“A fantastic place to stay”
Me and a friend stayed here for one night whilst walking some of the Lakeland fells,at the end of a long day we recieved a lovely welcome and found everything we needed to make our short stay both comfortable and enjoyable.

Excellent place to stay, everything and more than you would ever need! Breakfast excellent, locally sourced produce. Freshly cooked. Owners very friendly, and helpful. Can't fault it!
“Close but no cigar :(”
Lovely owners of the hotel, good breakfast, rooms are nice and clean. But... and a big but... no chance of getting any sleep in this guest house which to me is kind of important..... The floor boards are so noisy and you can hear the rooms above and below like they were in your room. Cockermouth is like brits abroad and expect to get fights, fall outs and break ups outside the hotel every hour from 1am until 4 :(
