Pros: Nice view from the window Comfy Beds
Cons: Communication about Breakfast Don't state its a double room and then put 2 single beds together - its an insult.
I booked this hotel for Valentine's Day for me and my boyfriend. The photos looked stunning and it was on one of the lakes, I was willing to pay that extra to get something a bit more special. On arrival the car park is across the road which is fine, however the hotel, whilst is overlooks the lake from the other side of the road! Is not at the lakeside like the photos appear to me. I had paid for a lake view, which, it did have a lake view - however, it also had a view onto the front of the car park and the main road running in front of it - not as serene as the photos make out. The hotel is dated inside, but well maintained. I paid extra for a double luxury room, that was disappointing. It was fairly small, and had 2 single beds pushed together, not even clipped together. The view out of the window was pleasing if you were lay in bed. The bathroom was nice, the shower was dreadful. It was clean, but was not a power shower and was disappointing. The hotel isn't in the centre of Keswick, a taxi costs around £7 one way. We didn't get breakfast as our Expedia confirmation didn't state we got it, neither did the hotel at any point tell us that we had it - yet in the morning the invoice stated B&B!! Poor communication and customer service. They offered us breakfast, but by then we had eaten in the room. Overall - a fairly expensive disappointing stay at the Lodore. I won't stay here again, luckily the charm of Keswick and the Lake District overshadowed this.

Hotel with great facilities in beautiful locationPosted Aug 17, 2014
Cons: Some of the public areas are outdated and a bit 'worn'
Location: Fab location. Nearby Keswick lots to do. Beautiful walks around. Hotel has beautiful gardens and great swimming pools.
Relaxing environment but extremely friendly, efficient and attentive staff. Great food

I was put in a room facing the hill and at dinner they sat me at the back of the restaurant. Very disappointed with my stay.....

Delightful stayPosted May 18, 2014 on Hotels
We attended a wedding reception and had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the setting was perfect. The only downside was a dripping noise during the night, presumably from a gutter or downspout that couldn't cope with the heavy rainfall, which disturbed our sleep.

Lovely spot at the S end of Derwentwater but close enough to Keswick. Friendly and attentive staff. A great place for a relaxing break

Beautiful Setting!Posted Apr 23, 2014 on Hotels
The hotel was situated outside Keswick and off the typical Lakes District tourist trail. A beautiful and relaxed setting and quite convenient as a base for other lake walks.

This ia a great location for kayaking and walking. The hot-tub outside is a treat after a long day walking.
