Stayed here for 1 night. Roy was perfect host. Rooms were lovely clean and fresh. Breakfast was beautiful. Roy recommended a restaurant which was outstanding. When we left we felt like we had a friend for life. Will certainly stay again

Roy was a pleasant and helpful host. Marlborough House was only a 10 minute walk into Carlisle town centre and the castle and the museum and the cathedral. I would stay there again

Friendly placePosted Nov 2, 2012
The manager was very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We were in a family room but the bathroom had a glazed door, which didn't give any privacy, the curtains would benefit from being lined, to cut out the light from the street/traffic lights. Breakfast was cooked to order based on your selection, at the time you want it. Very pleasant stay.
close to city centre -ideal for short get awayPosted Oct 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
we had a friendly welcome - very homely - clean bright and warm - we arrived late afternoon early evening after a days hard work and after a 2 and half hour drive we were tired and hungrey - we were offered a welcoming cup of tea if we wanted and altho we had planned to go into twon for a meal we were told about an indian restaurant 2mins away which was good. It proved to be excellant and we were glad we decided to take the advice and eat here.Altogether an enjoyable visit - we would go again.
