“Worth the trip”

The blue hotel just off the M6 may not look anything special but once inside everything was excellent. Pool fab, room clean and larger than expected and service great. Rang for reception when putting the kettle on and fresh milk arrived before it had even boiled. Convenient location only 5 miles from Ullswater.

“Hotels great, foods not”

I can't fault the hotel or spa facilities in any way. Everything was very clean and easy to use. The only gripe I have is that in the "in-hotel restaurant" the kitchen seems to be allergic to seasoning, the food had the base ingredients of what was described on the menu. However, didn't really bear much resemblance to "coq au vin"

“great hotel”

this was the 3rd time we stayed here, this time for a family wedding. Although it's not in the most scenic location, this hotel offers consistently good service and food, I would recommend it highly.

“A lovely place to stay”

The quality of service at the hotel was excellent and the newly refurbished pool and spa was very nice. There are lots of places to just sit and chill in the hotel and the restaurant does very nice food. I would definitely stay again

“Great Expedia service!!!!”

This was an excellent hotel, arranged by Expedia after a previous reservation fell through at the last minute. Expedia rearranged everything and picked up the charges for a 4 star hotel. Amazing service from Expedia and a really lovely hotel. I even stayed on an extra night and paid the bill! Good modern family hotel with excellent technology (free in-room wi-fi, LED push button shower etc) and ambience, plus a pool and spa - a great combination.

“Comfortable, well equipped and handy for the M6”

We stopped here on the way from Oxford to theHighlands of Scotland. Hotel was perfectly comfortable for a night's stay and staff were ultra-helpful - opening the business centre to allow me to print directions for the next stage of our journey. This is a very family friendly hotel, so if travelliong without children it may be worth asking for a room on the top floor so you aren't disturbed by the patter of tiny feet breaking into your lie-in. Didn't use the bar or restaurant so can't make any comments, although both seemed busy and buzzy. All in all a great place to break a journey on the M6 or as a gateway to the Lake District.

“Fine for business trip”

Room was small (also had interlocking door so you could hear the next room pretty clearly) and bathroom was quite tired, but shower was excellent and was fine for a one night business trip. Meeting rooms are quite bizarre as can be turned into bedrooms
