Family owned Victorian guest house and pub situated in the heart of Windermere Village and located in the heart of the Lake District. The property is just off the A591 that runs through the Lake Show more District and a two minute walk from Windermere train station. Lake Windermere is just 5 minutes away by car or a 15 minute stroll to walk off dinner in the bar. The Oakthorpe is a perfect location from which to explore this idyllic area with the convenience of local amenities right on your door step. The Oakthorpe also has the added benefit of the Lamplighter bar and restaurant serving traditional pub food and beer for over 25 years. The bar is a favourite with locals and folk night is a regular feature of a Wednesday evening in the area. Bedrooms are of a comfortable size and are well furnished with a total of 10 available three of which are shower only and the remaining seven en suite including our four poster room. Private parking is also connected to the property and Tony and Sue the owners are on site and only too happy to help assist you with any other requests that you may have to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
