“Very comfortable”

This is a very comfortable hotel; large rooms; good service; good food in the dining room. It is on the main road but is quiet.

“Great location but go elsewhere”

This hotel needs refurbishing as much as the staff need training. Worn carpets on the stairs and tired upholstery, stains on the dining room ceiling. Staff vary between surly and smiling but all need a good dose of customer satisfaction training. Evening room service food was only available from 7-9 pm and that was when they took last orders for food in the bar and dining room as well. The bar closes at 11.00 pm and, after that, you also need to get the night porter to let you in. The food was verging on awful - a fairly expensive main course of frozen battered fish, burnt, soggy chips cooked in old oil and a minuscule salad. If you must stay here, do yourself a great favour and eat the fantastic food in the italian restaurant directly across the road.

“Service Deficiencies!”

* Arrived at 12.30pm, but unable to check in "until after 3pm" * Unable to have dinner in restaurant because "reserved for a private party" - we were not pre-advised of this * Morning paper ordered was (a) not delivered to room; and (b) was the wrong paper Apart from that, location and surroundings were great.

“Expensive 3 Star hotel”

Breakfast was very good but hall carpets frayed- hair dryer did not work properly - room heating radiator falling out of the wall - room not ready on arrival - dirty cigarette ash can at main entrance - very expensive for what came across as a 2Star hotel. Dissappointed

“This hotel was most unsatisfactory”

There was no elevator and many stairs. The bathroom smelled of urine. Parking was extremely difficult.
