“Good hotel”
It would have been nice if there were additional restaurants at walking distance, now it is a bit isolated.
“Great Hotel”
We stayed at the Marriott for 5 nights. You're exposed to "island time" as soon as you get there so be prepared. I'm always amazed at the impatient postings of other visitors. We had to wait an hour for our room to be made up and we got in at 3pm but it was really no big deal. The beach is manmade but nice. On days when the wind shifts, oil can be blown ashore. They closed the beach one day after several people (me included) emerged from the water covered with oil spots. The food was really good and we had great service. The tour guides were great. We did a day tour through Yellow Tours of the whole island. Our guide, Michel, was fantastic. But be careful of the lunch. You have no choice where you eat on the tour and the food is pricier than other places. They don't warn you about this. If you get a chance, eat at the restaurance across the street at the Floris Suites. Best meal we had at a hotel restaurant during our stay. One small beef: there were a lot of broken lounge chairs on the beach. If you didn't score a good one early, you were outta luck. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
“Can't wait to go back”
The hotel is very good
“Just fine. Not great for the money spent.”
Beautiful hotel on the outside but room furnitures were so outdated. Don't order food at the Breeze cafe- our hamburger took 2 hours we walked out. I got the feeling some staff in the hotel were more partial and more attentive at serving the Ducht first than us -Americans though I'm sure we always left bigger tips. Portofino restaurant screwed our dinner reservation though we had confirmed twice ahead of time and it was our Thanksgiving dinner with friends! Seems like you had to ask for what you want twice before they get back to you.
“great beach, good food but service and infrastructure need serious help”
this hotel has a great location and beach but is in need of a serious maintenance and revamp - service and management seem generally absent but staff is friendly - and food is good.... 4-5 five star potential run like a 2-3 star
“Smelled moldy”
The hotel smelled moldy. My sister found a spider crawling on her bed. The beach was nice and big. Loved the beach, but didn't like the hotel room because of the moldy smell...The comforter, sheets, and pillows smelled terrible because of the air in the room. They have a free shuttle that goes downtown. The employees were very pleasant. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. It was the worst hotel I've stayed at while traveling...
“Great Hotel Location”
Wife and I just loved it. The pool, people, beaches and the food was great. Rent a car and tour the island with a cooler and check out all the beaches..
“Birthday Celebration in Curacao”
I planned this trip as a surprise birthday celebration for my boyfriend's 50th birthday. It was our first time to the island and we hope to go back again someday. The resort at the Marriott Emerald Beach was beautiful. The lobby is open to the outside with fountains and fans and plenty of seating areas. We enjoyed the swim up bar in the afternoons. There were plenty of chairs a the pool and beach with palapas for shade. Great snorkeling right off of the hotel beach. We visited several other beaches on the island too. What I liked about the Marriott beach was that it was shallow, so it was easy to be close to the coral and the fish. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the room was a little musty, but all of the pros outweighed that.
“Glora”
Is Good , but i think but they can improve
“Pretty nice”
Very nice set up of the hotel. While the beach could be a little better, it was pretty nice and the same as most others on the island. The great thing is you can snorkel right there at the hotel and see plenty of fish. Free shuttle provided to downtown area twice a day. Good location to be able to walk to a few other local places to eat. Pool area was great, nice whirlpool areas too. Hotel went above and beyond by bringing my wife's purse, that she left in the room when we checked out, to the airport. They got it there before we left, I was very impressed.
