“Nearly Perfect”
It was summer time and we received quite a good discount for the room. The hotel is beautifully designed and they try to provide good service. There is a relaxing waterfall where one can bathe and read. We really enjoyed it! If I had paid the full price, I would have complained about small imperfections in the room (mirror, and AC filter was a bit dirty, a few tiles in the bathroom were cracked), but for what we paid it was a great deal. Location is wonderful, and so is the Kura Hulanda museum. Massage was massively relaxing. My only complaint is about the charge of a local phone call made from our room. It was $2/minute, and the rate was not posted anywhere! It would have been cheaper to use our mobile phone to call the local number. Do not use the hotel phone!
“Curacao - A Caribbean Gem”
The Kura Hulanda is a cultural experience that you will enjoy immensely. It's a small Dutch caribbean village (with narrow cobble stone streets, 3 resaurants, shops, spa, 2 pools, internet and a museum. The villa style hotel rooms are nicely appointed and beds comfortable. Lush grounds all around. The staff at the Kura Hulanda were very helpful and attentive to our needs. One in particular, Darrell, was very friendly and a source of useful information. The bar service in the courtyard was typically Caribbean - slow, but the drinks were good. Live music there some nights. Food was excellent (especially Jaipur restaurant) but pricey, typical of the island. Hotel casino was smoky and small. Take a hotel shuttle to the Blue Bay beach and spend the day in paradise. The beach a the Kura Hulanda lodge was small and quite rocky, not nearly as nice. Lodge is isolated at the far west end of the island, 45 minutes from Willemstad - not sure it's worth the trip. Enjoyed the restaurants near Fort Amsterdam - good seafood and beautiful view overlooking the ocean. Money saving tips - take taxi not shuttle from the airport to hotel - a short 15 minute ride. Buy snacks and drinks at grocery around the corner instead of expensive hotel breakfasts. Service charges already added to bill. Loved Curacao and hope to return.
“Wonderful place for a honeymoon...”
The Kura Hulanda is full of character. The restored buildings within the hotel complex offer a unique ambience and feeling that is luxurious and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Our 10 night stay met and exceeded our expectations for our accomodations. We highly recommend the museum restaurant, especially the Brazillian barbeque on Saturday nights. The downtown location is perfect for walking to the shopping districts and local restaurants, and the free shuttle to their beach lodge and local beach is excellent.
“Perfect Honeymoon Hotel”
The staff and service at this hotel was the best we have ever experienced. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and they decorated our room for us! The front desk staff also helped us daily with reservations to wherever we wanted to go eat and offered several great recommendations as well. The hotel is right in the downtown shopping area, and overall the hotel itself has the most unique and best set up of any hotel ever. You feel as if you are in your own little village and have total privacy if you so wish. The rooms are very nice, with comfortable beds, sheets and a spacious and beautiful bathroom.
“Great Hotel”
What a great hotel. I have been to several different resorts throughout the world and by far this has to be one of the best. Great service, great location and very unique hotel resort. I did not ask for much from the hotel but if I did I am sure they would try their best to fulfill our needs.
“Friendly, convenient”
Great hotel. The Jaipur Thursday night buffet was amazing, the ecco pool right near it is just beautiful (has a grotto). Jacob's bar has live music every night. The staff was extremely helpful, in securing taxis for pickup at the lobby, booking tours, or giving directions. They even recommended some nightlife to me (mambo beach, etc.) and where to get some great gouda cheese. Free shuttles to blue bay beach (beware, there's a slight smell in the air of the oil refinery, hardly noticeable - its a beautiful spot) and the lodge kura hulanda beach. And generally speaking, everybody on the island was so friendly...this is the second time I've been to the caribe, I've never been so satisfied. I came back so relaxed. Tell Alex at the front desk and Gerald the porter I said hi!
“Location and ambience”
Love the quaint village atmosphere
“A great place to stay”
Kura Hulanda Spra & Casino was one of the best hotels I've stay at. The staff very helpful and kind. The grounds well maintained. Food was good I loved having my Breakfast at the Observatory Restaurant. The hold place was so relaxing. If you are looking for R&R this is the place. Everything you need is there at the hotel or with in a 5 to 10 min. walk of the hotel.
“Curacao's Best Hotel”
If you do not mind to be on an caribean island and not have a hotel on the beach, this is really the place to be at! Super atmosphere, very nice restaurants in the hotel itself but also in the near surroundings.
“Very quaint and comfortable”
Loved the ambiance. Loved the pools. The bed was a little hard and the air conditioner made funny noises, but overall I would highly recommend this place.
