The Royal Sea Aquarium Resort is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway or for a family vacation. The friendly staff will make you feel right at home and take care of your every need. Whether you decide to relax on the beach or by the pool, join in the fun activity program, try your hand at water sports, visit the world-famous Sea Aquarium right next door to the resort or explore the island, you are sure to enjoy yourselves.
The resort has 30 fully furnished Caribbean Villas (sleeping six) which can be divided into 30 Suites (sleeping four) and 30 Rooms (sleeping two). The Royal Sea Aquarium Resort is on a private island next to the Curacao Sea Aquarium. The resort has two swimming pools, a kid’s pool, a Jacuzzi, a secluded beach and a restaurant for waterfront dining and sunset cocktails.The Ocean Encounters dive center is just over the bridge and the popular Sea Aquarium beach is within easy walking distance. Island capital Willemstad is just 10 minutes away and it is a 30-minute drive to the airport.
Rooms
The Royal Sea Aquarium Resort offers 30 guestrooms. Furnished balconies open to ocean views. Rooms are furnished with double sofa beds. 42-inch flat-panel televisions come with premium cable/satellite channels and DVD players. Accommodations at this 3.5-star property have kitchens with full-sized refrigerators/freezers, stove-tops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils. Bathrooms include makeup/shaving mirrors.
This Willemstad condo property provides complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access. Business-friendly amenities include in-room safes and direct-dial phones with voice mail. Separate living rooms, CD players, and separate dining areas are also included. Hair dryers and wake-up calls can be requested. Rooms are accessible via exterior corridors. Housekeeping is provided twice a week.
All guestrooms are non-smoking.

Start your Curacao taste tour in The Sea Aquarium Resort with delicious food prepared by talented chef Augusto Ceccotti and don’t miss the nearby beachfront grill at Mambo Beach. There are many other fine restaurants within walking distance of the resort and in Willemstad to tempt your taste buds and you can go global when it comes to the menus.
Island Flavors
The local seafood is fresh and flavorful and Caribbean and Latin American dishes are widely available. Try the traditional Indonesian rijsttafel or banquet that is a favorite wherever the Dutch have settled in the world or indulge yourself with spicy Indian food, French, Swiss and Italian cuisine. Chinese, Japanese and Thai are also on the menu and if you are a meat lover, you’ll find everything from hamburgers to prime steaks and BBQ ribs. Sample some Curacao cuisine or kuminda krioyo during your stay. The best place is the Marshe Bieu, the old market building in Willemstad, where stalls serve keshi yena, a steamed Dutch cheese with a tasty chicken stuffing, sopi di banana (plantain soup) and pastechi (fried meat pastry) Culinary walking tours are available in Willemstad and take you through Punda and Otrobanda to the Floating Market and the Marshe Bieu for a traditional Curacoan lunch. The resort Concierge will be happy to give you more dining tips and you can browse through sample menus at the Activities Desk.
Augusto’s Restaurant
International favorites, fresh seafood and Italian pasta prepared with flair by Chef Augusto Ceccotti on the waterfront at The Sea Aquarium Resort. If you would like something different, please tell your waiter, special orders are welcome. Augusto’s is open for breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m., lunch 12 to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Happy Hour: 4 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Monday and Friday. There is free wireless Internet. A take-out service is available on request. Nearby Restaurants Visit Mambo Beach for international dining, theme buffets, grilled seafood and steaks and more under the palms. This popular tropical-style restaurant is open daily for lunch from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. Don’t miss the open-air classic movie night on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
The Night is Young
Cocktails at sunset and a candlelit dinner on the waterfront are the perfect way to start your evening. Follow it up with live music in a beach bar, the repertoire includes reggae, rock, merengue, salsa, jazz and the traditional island beat of tumba and you’ll soon be dancing under the stars. For more fun, take to the waves for a dinner cruise or board a party bus. Finally, head for Curacao’s casinos, you never know, you may strike lucky.
Recreation
Enjoy yourself relaxing by the resort pool or sun worshiping on the beach. Take a kayak out on the bay or sign up for some of the activities organized by the resort. If you want to go diving or snorkeling, Ocean Encounters has the tour for you. Finally, save time to visit the Sea Aquarium, go shopping in Willemstad and explore the island.
Beach Hopping
Palm-lined, peaceful and sheltered, the resort beach is the perfect place to start sun worshiping. When you need a change of scenery stroll over to the Lion’s Dive, Mambo or Kontiki beaches, all are within walking distance and have restaurants and bars.There are over 35 beaches to choose from on Curacao so drive along the coast in search of your own favorite sunspot.

Swimming Pools and the Jacuzzi
The pools are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and there is a separate pool for the kids. Enjoy the Caribbean Jacuzzi; there’s space for up to 20 people. When you have had enough of the sun, relax in the shade in one of our five poolside cabañas.
In-house Activities
Join us for a variety of fun activities including salsa, merengue and bachata dance classes, Papiamento lessons to help you learn the local lingo, pool volleyball, snorkeling, bingo, organized tours and children’s games.Activities are subject to change without prior notice. For more information, please check the weekly activities list at the Front Desk where the sign up sheets are located. If you are coming down with your children and would like us to schedule craft activities, send us an email request prior to travel, using the information in the confirmation received after booking.
Booking Tours
Attend the Sunday morning Orientation Briefing at the resort for tips on exploring Curacao, ask the Concierge for more local attractions and you will be raring to go. You may decide to rent a car and explore at your own pace, sign up for a day trip, try horseback riding, hiking or even a safari jeep tour, all available from the local tour operator that serves the resort.

“Amazing Vacation!”
My Husband and I with our 19month old stayed at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort and we were very pleased with our experience. The view from our room was amazing and free entrance to the sea aquarium next door a definite plus. The kitchens were fully equipped and the rooms fully furnished. The staff at the hotel were also very helpful, there was one instance where I lost my camera during a trip I had taken with their shuttle earlier in the day. They was very instrumental in helping me to get it back. I must mention Norman, he was our shuttle driver to Punda and was truly amazing. He was helpful beyond what was necessary. The only down side was the restaurant Agustos, the food was not remarkable and the menu was limited. Overall however I would definitely stay their again!
“Resort con miglior rapporto qualità/prezzo di tutta Curacao”
Semplicemente il miglor resort disponibile sull'isola. Camere super attrezzate anche con frigo, forno micronde e cabine armadi capienti. Ubicazione da sogno (direttamente sula mare)e dalla camera si possono vedere tutti i giorni delfini e foche nuotare nel sea aquarium.
“Nice, we liked it”
We enjoyed the close proximity to the Sea Aquarium and loved the view of the ocean. The water was practically at our doorstep. The tile floor in the room was very dirty, so plan on wearing flip flops at all times or your feet will be completely blackened with dirt on the bottoms, but otherwise everything was very comfortable. Also, they guard the entrance drive closely, so it would have been nice had they allowed our chosen dive operator to drive up to the hotel entrance to pick us up--we had to carry our dive gear up a long winding drive to the parking area to meet our pickup van. Dive gear can get heavy!
“Great value fantastic diving”
Fantastic views, great pool and beaches. Restaurant had great food, reasonably priced. Dive shop and aquarium a 2-minute walk away. Town a 10-minute bus ride away. A beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Housekeeping came a bit late in the day, but this worked well for us since they arrived after our second dive so we came home in the evening to a clean room. We'll definitely stay there on our next trip to Curacao.
