Visiting Curitiba During World Cup

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Centralized location and proximity to various commercial establishments
Cons: Door stoppers are needed on the doors to prevent them from slamming loudly into the walls. Bed size in the rooms with double beds was too small
Location: A churrascaria with great Brazilian barbecue was conveniently located on the next street
This Hotel was conveniently located in downtown area of Curitiba and wasn't too far away from the Football arena. Although an older hotel, most amenities are still functional. The beds were not very comfortable and were much smaller than a typical twin sized bed in the US. I practically was forced to sleep in the same position all night, as I would have ended up on the floor if I accidentally rolled over. Other than that, the only other minor inconvenience was the lack of door stoppers behind all the doors in the room. You'd think that would be the one simple issue that shouldn't be ignored. Also worth mentioning, the check-in process took forever even though my reservation was done online and already paid for. The check-out process was equally lengthy.

Central location

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Breakfast excellent, beds comfortable,
Cons: Swiming pool, gym, dinner in evening, living room furniture,
Location: Shopping, and central very excellent location
The Hotel has very large rooms, with a real seperate living area, in essence its a suite, however, the furniture is a little dated, and could do with a makeover, the staff are really good and helpful. The restaurant breakfast is excellent, but the dinner in the evening was not so great, The swimming pool is a joke 2m x 1m its more like a pond, and a small pond. The GYM alot of the equipment doesnt work, but the sauna works very well. Water in the luxery room is supposed to be complimentry each day, however the room service often forget, but this is not a problem, as you can just take 1 from fridge and they give you. Pricewise, when booked with expedia, this hotel is good value for money, but if your looking for a 4 star experience then you will not get.
