I loved this hotel. The room was so cute with doors that opened up onto the street. The whole property just gives such a relaxing energy. Great breakfast and the staff were so kind and helpful.

It’s a cozy atmosphere. Front desk was really nice and accommodating. The woman handling breakfast was working very hard and did a great job. I really appreciated her. She made my mornings start off nicely and she always kept everything clean and supplied. She is great. Some rooms need updating and they need to put towel racks in bathrooms. They cleaned daily which was nice.

Charming hotel, easy access to get around
Charming hotel, delicious breakfast and friendly staff. When the family room we booked was accidentally given to somebody else, they gave us two rooms next to each other instead. Courtyard is a nice place to sit and read. Staff helped us get a taxi to our next stop in our travels. This is the second time we have been here and we will continue to come back in the future.

Es muy acogedor, todo limpio, agua caliente, mantas abrigadoras, en el patio puedes tomar mate de coca o muña que te puedes servir en cualquier momento, me encantó!!. Esta cerca de la plaza, en el barrio de san Blas donde puedes caminar por los alrededores. Hay Wi Fi, pero la tv no funcionaba en mi habitación.

En general la estadía fue excelente, aunque la primera noche no hubo mucha agua caliente, esto fue superado tan pronto me comuniqué con Luis. Su mami fue muy atenta y preocupada porque nos sintieramos a gusto!. La próxima vez que retorne a Cusco, no dudaría en volver a hospedarme en aquí.

When I arrived to the hotel it was closed! I knocked several times and a woman opened saying that they were not open!!!! The hotel looked abandoned and had dog poop everywhere so I was not able to stay there and Travelocity charged me for my stay!!!! Even though I've been chatting with Travelocity and they said they will refund me they didn't. So disappointing, I had to find another place to spend my time in Cusco. I don't recommend using Travelocity. There is a facebook page of complains about Travelocity services!!!!Don't use it!

I had booked a double King bedroom and upon arrival I was given a queen single room. I told them this is not what I booked. I was then moved to a hotel closer to the center but then they also tried giving me a small room. I was then given a bigger room after stating this is too small but still was only a single queen bed. Photo is the picture of the hotel room I finally got but it was no double King

The property was beautiful & the staff was very friendly and on the ball. It was very cold but when I asked for an extra blanket, I received a heater to warm us up. There was not always hot water but when you got some, you could take a nice shower. Great service!

I would stay here in a heart beat again. Top 2 places to stay while in Cusco. It is very close to the Plaza de Armas and in the fun San Blas neighborhood. The room was warm, friendly, and cozy. It felt like a home. Best deal around.

Overall ok, but staff tried to "bait & switch"
Upon arrival, we were told that our room was "occupied" and were offered a room at another location. We asked to see it first, and were glad that we did, as the 'other location' was some random apartment - not even another comparable hotel or hostel. We refused. They miraculously "found" a room for us. It felt like a bait and switch. We ended up in a much smaller room than we had booked (and paid for) but it was fine. In the end, Hotels.com made it right by offering us a partial refund. Hostal is nice (3 stars is about right) with a lovely courtyard and a decent breakfast. We were just disappointed in the hassle upon arrival.

The hostal, is simple but has everything you need. Tea and coffee is available all day which is nice and breakfast is simple but plentiful and you can even order an omelette. It is 10 min walk Plaza de Armas and next door to Green Point organic restaurant. I want to highly praise the receptionist at the hostal. With little english and my basic spanish, they had really helped me in many ways. I sadly got pick pocketed and they helped me call for a taxi to go to the police station and allowed me to use their computer to contact my family, which was very kind of them. Thank you Apu Huascaran, for my stay at the hostal and being so kind.

We arrived at 6 am and our check in was not till later in the day and the receptionist was nice enough to let us sleep in another room while we waited. They were very attentive and the place was quaint and cozy. Not a far walk from The Plaza de Armas.

Pros + Location near San Blas square and good restaurants like Pachapappa + Very safe and secure property with free luggage storage Cons - Staff especially lady with good English at front desk in the day-time. She attempted to charge us for breakfast even though we didn't eat it on one of the mornings due to early morning pick-up to Machu Picchu. She helped us hire a private taxi driver for 300 soles. I asked for a receipt and she said "noooo" with a whine, so I asked if she can hand write it and she was finally willing. Makes me wonder where the money was going to go. - Terrible WiFi service. - Poor air circulation in room 102. - Hot water is at a minimal even when you turn it on for several minutes.

Courtyard is very nice, and breakfast was satisfying. Door locks don't feel super secure but the area itself feels safe. The location is a short hike up a narrow street where you have to dodge cars going by. I did not like that the housekeeping service moved our stuff around. The front desk can help you with taxi services but I felt that their prices were high. Overall met our needs, but there are no frills with this stay.

Pathetic experience
We stayed at this hostel for 4 days and the experience was not good. On the first day we didn't have basic facility like hot water. The next day in the morning front desk said to take shower after 10am if you need hot water if we needed hot water. The wifi over here is pathetic. We got speed of around 100 kbps which is like having no internet at all. Also on 3rd day we had to get you early for morning tour and found that electricity in our room didn't work. Front desk had just sorry to say for this

Just finished an 8 night stay at Apu Huascaran. It was amazing the staff do so much for you to make everything right. We booked 5 tours right there at the hotel and everything was just perfect. It is in the best part of town with lots of resturants and shops around it. Luis and his staff are extremely friendly and got above and beyond to make your stay the best. I can say for my family they sure made that happen so thank you for that. I know when i return to Cusco this is the place we will come back to without a doubt.

Our experience at Apu Huascaran was quite good. The location is extremely central with a good view of the city. Breakfast was delicious and the staff helpful. Laundry services are offered here.
