Exceptional servicePosted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were very happy with our stay at Casa San Blas. The hotel is cheerful and welcoming, with tea always ready, a couple of public computers available for use, and a nice sitting area. Rooms are clean and cute. The service is truly exceptional, with all the staff very friendly and attentive. Diana at the front desk helped us with restaurants, taxis, planning our excursions and any other question we had. Location is convenient to man points of interest. There is a climb up one hill to get to the hotel, but that allowed for separation from street noise. Highly recommend!

We loved the proximity to the main square and shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful with answering 'where to go' questions. The price was excellent when comparing to larger hotels in the area.

Good and BadPosted Aug 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Good: Hot water bottles in the bed at night, chocolates on the pillow at night, really helpful staff, great location near historic center of Cusco and not far from two great restaurants (Jack's Cafe and Pachapapa). Bad: Double bed room was microscopic, and had no ventillation. The windows for most rooms opened into the stairwell, and I could easily crawl into the room through the open window, so we did not feel secure leaving the window open when we were not in the room. The ventallation fan in the bathroom worked automatically for about one minute out of every 10, so it was never enough to dry out the bathroom after a shower and since you couldn't open the window to the hotel room to any fresh air, the room became very damp-smelling really quickly. Especially when you add in the whitewater rafting and hiking around the Cusco area, our room got very smelly due to damp towels, swimsuits, and hiking boots, and even opening the window to the stairwell when we were in the room didn't help much. There's no AC unit to help either, just an electric radiator. Hotel walls seem substantial but in reality are very thin and therefore hotel is very noisy. Since people in Cusco get up at 5:30am for tours and such (Sacred Valley, whitewater rafting, Inca Trail), expect lots and lots of noise easily hearable in your hotel room starting at about 5:00am.

Quiet locationPosted Aug 2, 2013
Pros: Beds very comfortable.
Location: Good location in San Blas
Good option in this price range. Far better than another hotel, where we spent last night because Casa San Blas was full. Quiet because set back from the road.

Great location and very nice staff. Rooms are comfortable with great showers. Breakfast room is small and gets too crowded.

Gem in Cusco!Posted Jul 26, 2013
Pros: Staff helpfulness, cleanliness, comfort.
Location: There are excellent restaurants within less than a 5 minute walk and the location felt very safe. Also a short walk to the main area of Cusco.
This hotel is a spectacular option in Cusco! It is in a nice neighborhood and is an easy walk to the main square. The staff were lovely and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We liked the hotel so much that we tried to cancel other reservations to spend an extra night. It is a smaller hotel which is really nice and gives it a homier feel. This would without a doubt be my first choice if I return to Cusco!

Cute hotelPosted Jun 4, 2013
Pros: the front desk staff was very helpful
Cons: the walls are super thin and we could hear EVERYTHING!
Location: located up on a hill so walk slow or else you might be winded from the altitude
You really can't expect too much in a boutique hotel. We spent 3 nights here and realized during the first night the walls are paper thin. We could hear EVERYTHING! The neighbors using the bathroom, shower, fan, walking, etc. Our room was on the 1st floor and if I were to stay there again I would request the top floor and pay more money. It's also located up on a hill so walking back to the hotel wasn't too fun at times. Other then that, the staff was super helpful and friendly.
