“Cusco's finest!”
I found this hotel to be one of the nicest I've been in and definitely has earned 3 stars. Compared to the market for hotels (or hostels), this may seem a bit expensive. You will definitely find hostels and hotels cheaper in Cuzco. However, the staff was very helpful in suggesting places to visit, reliable taxis ( I recommend Jose) , places to eat, etc etc The area is pretty safe and there is security at night. The continental breakfast is fit for a king, with a nice amount of variety, and hot food.
The context of this hotel is converting a simple house into a very comfortable space. The room I felt was perfectly sized, but don't expect a mansion.
The only negative is that the kitechn atl least during off season is closed after breakfast, but this actually forced me to scour for food outside. This may be a good thing!
In short, I traveled without much of a plan, and had a very rewarding experience. For first time travelers to Peru who want comfort and safety, this is the place to be!
